Not just the on Coli, i've noticed this in other spaces as well. Let me tell you what i notice
1- "We need to boycott all hip hop" Okay, but most nikkas aren't buying albums like that in the first place?? Seriously, who is buying CDs?? So by boycott, do you mean only listen to other genres on the radio?? Which is fine to do, but think about it, if you boycott Future's songs or any other rapper, but yet you and a lot of other black ppl are still giving your money to the local places in/near black communities like Ling Ling's Cuisine, Muhammad's corner store, Hosea's grocery store/restaurants, etc does it even matter that you "boycotted" a rap song on the radio?
Why don't these nikkas see the bigger picture? You're giving most if not all your money to non black establishments, and not starting black ones. You annoucing that you threw out all your rap CDs that u burned off the computer isn't going to make a difference. I'm not saying u shouldn't do it if you want to but if u really believe that's what it will take to "change" the black community's economic condition...
WTF.
2- Dudes who talk about how hip hop is poison, destroying our communties, etc yet they see nothing abnormal about most of the businesses IN black areas being all owned by non black men
That's a bit more alarming, don't you think?? Truth is, so many of us are USED to seeing this that we think it's normal and think nothing of it. I almost NEVER hear these "boycott hip hop" dudes saying we shouldn't give so much of our money to asians, towelheads, etc
I'm NOT saying rap doesn't influence anyone at all, but a lot of problems we face have to do with economics, not some music
Yes negative rap songs are an issue but they are so far down on the list of our issues that it doesn't even need to be discussed so much. Like, if you really want to improve something, let's stop giving so much our disposable income to these ppl who don't look like us, like us or want to hire us, try to start more businesses of our own and support them, employ our own people and extract wealth from other groups like they're doing to us. Let's work on this and then we talk about not listening to Lil Uzi (or whoever) anymore
A dollar circulates in Asian communties for approx a month. A dollar circulates in the black community for approx six hours.
Go ahead and tell me i'm wrong, when i'm correct

Exactly. When dudes start talking about "boycotting" rap, it destroyed the black community, etc i don't even reply anymore, the solution to our issues does not involve music in any way. What will help is supporting black businesses that already exist, stop supporting non black ones so much especially the ones who suck all the money out of our communties and don't even hire blacks, starting more black businesses that way we have more we CAN support, etc simply not listening to Tyga anymore is not a viable "solution"
