I remember moving to the burbs and wondering why some of the kids were more ratchet than the folks on my old block.lower middle class black suburbs (extra high density developments, super small lot sizes, five feet distance from your neighbor, budget construction & materials with quick builds and zero character) have been growing for the past several years. those are the "new hood" as gentrification continues to push folks out.
the burbs are black folks new home in most sizeable cities and it's not all voluntary.
Only to find out that many of them were originally from the projects that the city tore down.
The hood is not a nice place to live, breh.

O yeah @Hennessypapi I know you mentioned possibly owning in MIA but honestly you'll probably do best in the DMV region.
It's a congested place and has a lot more growth than MIA. Not only that with all these disasters MIA may not be the best option.
DMV will probably yield better rewards and triple the money. That place is booming.

A lot nikkaz complain about the white man & gentrification but don't realize that if we collectively invested in our own communities we would be better off versus moving to the suburbs....how can you be pro-black & assert that the white man is the devil but as soon as you get some coin you go out of you're way to abandon the community & live amongst those same devils you claim to hate, now I'm fully aware that there are black affluent neighborhood's out there but how many are we really talking about??? I would love to see the so called talented tenth of the community invest in real estate, build job & community centers for those who need employment & the kids who need something to do after school instead of getting in trouble.....jews in Brooklyn got they own little private police force they use to watch & patrol their neighborhood's why we can't do the same??? Why we can't turn our communities around??? What if we built Starbucks, 7elevens, targets, & Apple bees but it was black owned with black employees that reflected the demographics of the community, what if the brothers like Umar Johnson were serious about building schools in our community where our children can be taught their true history & not be indoctrinated to be inferior through a European curriculum that teaches them that they were uncivilized primitive savages before the white man showed up
I had an argument with my mans one time were we almost was about to fight....he said he would rather live in a white affluent neighborhood instead of an affluent black neighborhood, because he would feel much safer around wypipo??? I said why bro, he said because nobody is going to be hating on my benz, Cuban bracelet & Cuban chains??? I said neither are the black people in that black affluent neighborhood because it's affluent meaning they have just as much as you bro & they worked hard for their success so they wouldn't be clocking you we talking lawyers judges doctor's entrepreneurs etc...nikka basically looks at black people through a European lens & essentially hates black people just as much smh

Some Nikkas work & don't wanna deal with a lot of the unnecessary drama that the hood brings.
What I've learned through my 30 plus years of living is that when white people say school choice what they mean is white kids will be able to get the hell away from blacks. It doesn't flow in the reverse. There will be some sort of bias built in where any white kid living in a black school district will either get to go to a white school school or receive vouchers for a private school.
100% agreed on the mentality down here. Had to cut off some fam and many friends. Any talk about self-improvement gets laughed off, and folk comfortable complaining. shyt sadInner.
A lot of people honestly just don't have the resources man. And there's a certain mentality down here that sucks.
I've been reading books on investments and sharing my knowledge and literally no one caresone guy laughed at me because I said I was thinking about retirement. I cut him off the 3rd week of dating bc he literally was trying to tell me I'm nuts for wanting better. Like the mindset down here is fukkin retarded. Ignorance gets everyone's attention and people who are trying to make it or made out to look like something wrong with them. I miss that East coast grind (DMV) and progress mentality.
