Why do some folks have such a strong distaste towards black nerds?

i think NeoGAF if a perfect example of this when it comes to accepting brehs that enjoy the geek culture too much.

It's not that anime, comic books...or whatever type of consumerism you dig is the problem. It's more that nukkas that go down that path tend to forget and actively shun their roots . These the same brehs that turn simp or secretly republican smdh.

Everybody on this board has geek tendencies, but we kept it real and understood how to move through the culture, take what we wanted from it, and moved on.

We ain't sitting around in self pity, not taking baths, living in our mommas basement wishing ill on the world cuz Becky not giving your black ass the time of day .

Maybe it's 'cause I'm in my 30's now (Still makes me shudder each time I say that 'cause I look the same way I did when I was 19 , No brag)
but I kind of understood why they felt the need to bolster themselves in the culture since back then Anime past DBZ and Ninja Scroll was shunned and the folks that liked that shyt ridiculed so they sorta had to huddle within themselves and fukk with like minded folk, but that ain't the case now with Anime and J-Pop and all that shyt being a forefront trend like it is now, But I guess it's still going on to this day.

Actually, as I sit and think on this shyt now, I just remembered the whole sad "Otaku" shyt that swept America during the early 2000's where alot of these wannabe orientals embraced that shyt to the point where they shunned American media, mainly cartoons'n'shyt for the "superior" animation and more drama heavy characters in Anime. Like folk would straight up scoff if you said you liked Ed, Edd and Eddy over "Condom Wing" (I ain't gonna lie, I got into it with Anime nerds over this shyt and still won't watch Gundamn Wing to this day.) and shyt like that. Shows like Cowboy Bebop, Lupin the 3rd and movies like Jin Roh had a breh willing to give it a greater go back when you could only get this shyt through online ordering or the obscure dvd in a blockbuster or some shyt, but I do remember these cats being really snooty with their love for Anime and Japanese culture and disdain for anything not falling under it's bracket.

Gundam Wing was pretty good. You missed out. It started good, the middle was dull, but it ended with a bang.

I don't know why, either. You can watch anime, play D&D and all the other geek things and still be cool with other black people. But for some stupid reason, they are laser focused on being "different" from the dominant culture's idea of black people

It has everything to do with a inferiority complex. Let's be honest..Nerds are extremely intelligent and brilliant people and many others may feel threaten by that. For example,if you was a C average student and the kid sitting 2 desks away from you was getting A after A,you would feel pretty shytty. Black "nerds" are self-persecuted in their own minds. If I have to read another article about how society mistreats the black nerd, because IG models aren't beating down his door with marriage proposals I think I'm gunna puke.

Nerds tend to be highly neurotic and deceptively narcissistic. It's their weird, antisocial personalities that self-ostracizes themselves. Your vibe determines your tribe.

And sorry, but watching cartoons as an adult is goofy as shyt, and a turnoff to the opposite sex. Not saying you have to completely eliminate them out of your life, but if a healthy portion of your free time revolves around dumb shyt like cartoons, video games, and the internet you're greatly diminishing your appeal in the dating scene. Know that. I used to love pro-wrestling as a kid, but by high school I realized it was a net negative to a productive love life, and I adjusted accordingly.

The latter are pathetic because they think Comic Books and Anime make them "morally/intellectually" superior to people who prefer Love & Hip-Hop.

It's not so much they hobbies that people dislike, since most people of colour from all walks of life enjoy them things to different degrees. It's normally their stance on dating and race, that people have a problem, since black nerds are more prone to seeking out white acceptance due to their "Peers" or dating white women almost exclusively since other "Black girls" never appealed, desired, gave them a chance.

And that's sad as shyt, honestly, 'cause in this day and age you can make your own lane in liking 'nerdy' shyt without being a total outcast if you have enough charisma or seek like minded people instead of trying to squeeze into white/asian groups that might let you in on some token shyt or stick with you until a moment comes up and see how you roll with it.

That' being said, past the lack of testosterone and corny jokes, I've no problem with 'em as long as they act right when they around me, fukk that.
