Women like to post azz shots and pictures were they are scantily dressed and screenshots of conversations of men trying to holla at them and so forth.
Men like attention to just in a different way. If a man is getting a lot of interest from the ladies and getting money and material things there is a tendency especially with younger men for them to want to broadcast that as a badge of honor.
Men and women want to be admired by their peers and seen as the creme de la creme.
Some people get older and grow out of it while others will continually seek that status.
