Is it something about their upbringing? By that i mean they've seen people in their family do it often and therefore think it's acceptable behavior?

Or am I the one who's weird, here? I always feel asking friends or family to borrow money unless it's an absolute emergency is an absolute NO-NO?

Have a breh of mine from Ivory Coast. Anyway the mofo makes good money but i can never understand why the cat is always trying to ball out of control to the point where always has some sort of situation where ne need to borrow money and absolutely no problem asking people to borrow. Granted he always pays people back but i can never understand how this dude who makes close to $100K (so he says but knowing where he works i believe it)

Anyway, dude trying hard to keep up this lavish lifelstyle front and always seems to find himself in a bind and needs to borrow anywhere from $200 to $1,000 for some bullsh!t.

Im looking at his last text and thinking to myself, damn breh you need to do a better job handling your finances :ld:

I'm 42 now and in my entire adult life I've never asked anyone I know personally to borrow money. I have good credit and a bank will lend to me.

People know I have money so they ask me and if it's a low amount and I feel like giving it I just say they can have it. Otherwise I ain't giving you nada.

there are people with shame and people without it. adult men who ask for money do not have it. but i will also add, within context, not having shame is not necessarily a bad thing. people without it have the capacity to go far in life because they won't be held back like people who won't do certain things because of it.

personally, i don't mind lending money. however, my philosophy though is don't come to me asking to borrow no paltry $25 or $100. i'll give $5k or $10k. if you can't afford that amount, you can't afford to borrow from me, and that weeds out a lot of folks. anything else i give is a gift without any expectation that it will be paid back.

I've never minded either, and if you're someone I fukk with like that and I can afford to, I'll generally just tell you to keep it and don't worry about it.

Some people are just different. Especially when it comes to money. Where me and you differ is, I don't see it as shameful if someone needs help and asks for it, cause sooner or later we all do in one way or another.

When I was in undergrad, I worked as a recruiter at a staffing company. There was this woman who used to stop by to see what jobs we had. I used to chop it up with her as I would do with a lot of associates and potential associates. Well one day she calls me (at work) asking for a few dollars. I’m like okay, sure, because I have a heart. And I thought she had to be pretty desperate asking me (practically a stranger) for some money. Well a few weeks after that, she stopped by the job to ask me for some money again. She had this whole sob story about having to pay for her kids daycare. She didn’t even work! She had no job. What the fukk did she need daycare money for??? I gave her half because again I have a heart, but I was also peeved. Don’t you know the bytch barely said thank you!! All she kept saying was she didn’t know how she was going to get the other half. Then later on that day, she had the nerve to send me a cash app request for it. Lmao. Not to mentioned, she stopped by a few weeks later to ask me for some money again. My coworker was pissed and was like let me handle this. Lol. I guess I have such a nice disposition that people love to try their luck with me. I don’t like to see my people struggling, but people will definitely walk all over you if you let them.

Hella people don't have any shame..

Wouldn't feel right asking anyone to borrow money except for my Pops or close fam.

I let family borrow as well but no one ever ask me to borrow except for a few of my nephews
