Why do some people feel this way about Allen Iverson?

You're missing the point.
No you're the one that's missing the point.

For the most part I enjoyed watching A.I. play, he was one of the most entertaining players of the last 30 years - the problem is when dudes start ranking/rating his play far beyond what his ACTUAL impact was. I could care less if he 'birthed' players like Kyrie Irving, I could give a fukk about all that. I don't hold canon-players of a certain style in higher regard, just because I like a player today that was fathered by their play. What just because I'm a fan of Kyrie I then have to practice this monotheistic worship like Iverson was a god amongst men, just like all these A.I. stans do?

One is a player whose career has just started and is unfairly criticized - the other is one of the most overrated players of the modern era.

but HE got them there... with no other superstar on the team

we talking about the philadelphia 76ers here... shall we up some of these rosters he played with??

yea he's mike vick... meanwhile mike vick won more playoff games than tony romo out here... and more than 85% of the starting qbs in the league right now

this isn't golf... there's a entire team out there and shyt coaches

so are we all taking eli manning over peyton now??

anybody taking rasheed wallace over charles barkley

robert horry over reggie miller

people who work for the nba and are paid to analyze these things, say he was top 2 under 6ft EVER... and yet the coli brains have regulated him to derek fisher status like he was just some regular nikka out here

even if he had another star on the team he wouldnt pass it to him. thats how you build a ai team, you put a bunch of role players around him and let him score

Iverson wasn't a winner in any of the stages of his career, and yet, his dust-head stans seem to wanna mention him in serious conversations with the gawds. He was just good and he influenced our style as kids and young adults at the time

The Mike Vick of basketball :camby:
I'm no A.I fan but how wasnt he a winner??? He had multiple playoff appearances and been to the finals. There are no comparisons between him and Mike Vick at all
