How old are you? Because I went through the same thing with disliking authority. But I grew out of it.
And don't take the life skills he gave you for granted, because all the most successful men I know had authoritarian father's, some of them don't really fukk with their dads to this day, but they never deny that their dad gave them the base to reach success.
