The only celebrity death that really had me in my feelings was Aaliyah. But to be fair, I was only 12 and I was a huge fan. And I just remember how sad it was that she died so young, right on the cusp of crossing over and becoming a major star. I think it was a combination of how she died, how young she was, and I had come to realization that my favorite artist wasn't going to be around anymore.

I was 12. I didnt really understand anything other than Aaliyah had died.

Stan culture is far more weird TBH.

Jay and Nas are the most beloved rappers on The Coli but let's be honest here, GOAT rappers but they are still hood nikkas from NYC. They probably think their hardcore internet stans are lame as fukk :russ: Nikkas be defending them dudes like they are in their inner circle like Bleek or Jungle :pachaha:

With that being said, I see nothing wrong with people being a little sad one of their favorite celebrities died, only annoying thing is when people say the year sucks because more than one famous person died :dwillhuh: Not to be morbid but a lot of celebrities will die every year, until human death is no more that will be the reality. Between Christmas and New Years NBC Nightly News has a video montage of all the celebrities that died that specific year. I usually turn the channel cause its depressing AF seeing all those dead people in a short period of time.

The only time a celebrity's death really fukked me up was Shock G :francis: . I legit cried when I heard the news and I don't really know why...

To this very day, its just crazy how such a musical genius just ended up a broken tormented soul.

kurt cobain :francis:

i read his biography heavier than heaven.. a musical and artistic genius... but a mess of a man :francis:

The internet and mass media has brought us closer to popular figures than alot of people in our personal lives. You can know intimate details of an e-celeb you’ve never met in real life and have no idea who your neighbors are.

Kobe death and finding out his daughter was also on the helicopter was crushing for me

Attending lakers games watching him play and also seeing the kids at the games

Then out of nowhere while laying on the couch on that sunday watching football and hearing the news and thinking people trolling and then ABC cut in with the official news, i literally broke down
