Cac logic ... he has only one or two good solo songs ... so does David Bowie ... but many older Cacs will kill you for saying that ...

Edit: I have to correct myself ... McCartney has tons of great solo shyt that I forgot about ... :wow:

Bowie only has a couple tracks? :pachaha:

:whoa: I acknowledge that he is a music legend, and I acknowledge that his business acumen is top notch.

but as a solo artist? :childplease:

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

^^^ these songs are bland as hell; why do people pretend like he makes great music though?

but you're just proving my point. the fact that he's getting radio play and charting at all is the "pretending" part I'm asking about

those songs I posted are ass. all of his songs are ass, and the ones that are good are just that - good or just ok

but where's his "In the air tonight"?
where's his "End of innocence"?

these responses are proving my point: people are uncomfortable admitting that he's had a mediocre solo career

Yesterday, blackbird.

Sure they were on beatles albums but they're all Paul, all paul

Hell the Michelle by the Beatles is an all paul classic. People are just talking and creating threads to do so.

Which one of the songs are "good or just ok.."

well first of all, none of those songs are all that good to me. just my opinion.

I respect the impact of songs like "Yesterday" but it's just bland.

now give me John Lennon's "Imagine", that's in my playlist right now
but my point is that i specifically said "as a solo artist" and you cats are showering the thread with songs from WINGS and the BEATLES. :francis:

I understand what you're saying.

The thing about the Beatles is they were the biggest most successful group ever.

It's not like Justin going solo from nsync or even Michael Jackson going solo from the Jackson 5

Paul's best solo work is and will forever be intertwined in those groups. Respect the pen and the artistry, it's all there. If Paul were to somehow have a comparable success to his work as a beatle on his own that would basically make him the greatest ever artist. Thats not to say his solo work is bad, it's just not comparable to the success as his work as a beatle. Even wings isn't comparable to the Beatles.

Yesterday I think is the most covered song in history or some shyt. Blackbird is powerful and transcendent, even if you don't like PM if you listen to the lyrics its just well written. I think it's on part with imagine.

Bro? That shyt is lit, it's good music, good music is good music. I like those 80's vibes too, I think the 80's were the best time period of music.

Anybody fukk with new wave? If I weren't born in the 90's I'd love to be born in the late 1960's just to experience the 80's :blessed:
