Science and "the arrogance of man" are mutually exclusive concepts. Man who believes in science learns from observations, experiments and investigating the world around him, he doesn't pretend to know what is by dreaming it up in his mind. It is something that is objective, so arrogance isn't in the equation, nor is any other thought, feeling or behavior. Science is absent of all those things. A man's ego does not existent in science.
However, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, arrogance, ego etc can all exist in "spiritual experiences".
