Probably because he(or whoever) wrote his hooks when he became a 'rapper' was some of the most annoying of the early to mid 2000s.

With that said he makes bangers and though his beats ain't my cup of tea , hes definitely an accomplished and influential producer in hip hop history.

That's the thing though. Bad Boy had the commercial side of the game locked, but they were still making traditional NY sounding boom Bap songs as well. The hard shyt for the streets so to speak. Premier had two beats on LAD for example. Swizz introduced a alternative street sound that was not traditional Ny boom Bap in the least

Now commercial/street sides were both covered by non traditional NY boom bap.

Ive always been love/hate with Swizz.

For whatever reason his beats/placements either outshine the rest of whatever album/mixtape hes been on or it sounds completly out of place.

Hes 50/50 with his catalog , crush or collapse.
