arena bowl offenses + better playoff defenses(physical), + cold weather playoff games = playoff flameout.

Easy. The caliber of play is just better in the playoffs. You're not playing cream puff teams. Officiating isn't as ticky tacky either..which benefits the D.

Because you don't need to score as much if your defense prevents the other from getting in end zone as often. Resources to build a team are finite and if you use those resources to build a defense, you can build an offense that is 'good enough' to score more than your healthy defense.

Its proven in all sports really.

because they rarely recruit or build 'high scoring or highly talented' defenses......

its really not weather and fgs and other footnotes

its because a good defense prevents offenses from scoring and even more so, gives their offense more chances (even if they don't convert as often as a more prolific offense) to score because of time of possession.

This isnt always true

Every year its a couple that make the playoffs off of soft schedules

Just look at Denver and Indy last year

Indy had 1 win over a team with a record over .500 and I think Denver had 2 so for teams like them its not the same teams they faced during the season cause they obviously built their record up by beating bums
