A lot of intelligent people don't want to have to "try" with anything.
I think about it like this for myself, I've spent 99% of my life being able to do damn near anything without having to try twice, or read the instructions, or anything like that.
I happened to develop great social skills by trying out different things and learning, but I haven't had to work on my social skills either.

Social skills are something that if you're not on the ball with developing, will take painstaking effort to develop. And most "smart guys" aren't ready to put in the effort.

Having to be able to exist both in Black social spaces and White social spaces, casually, academically, at party-settings, professionally, etc. allowed me to slide through effortlessly.

Most smart guys cannot do that.
