Why do you think there's such a pushback to Curry's dominance?

This is it right here...when Mark Jackson said him and Klay was the best back court duo in history..most nikkas was...:sas2: but the preacher knew it...and when nikkas was yelling Love for Klay the Logo was like...:mjpls: ....nikkas was not ready to handle the unexpected...little munchkin from Davidson done leapfrogged the whole damn league in the space of 5 years...?:damn: That's a hard pill :manny:

Yep...it would be one thing if it was just one or two of those things, but it's all of them at once.

The other week I saw a piece where somebody wrote that Steph was bad for the leagues' future because
short players coming up are gonna rely on their shot.

And I've seen 2 stories just this year asking "what if Steph was drafted by New York??"

There's no pushback to Curry's greatness as it pertains to the league today.

Almost everyone would agree he's among the top 3 players in the game right now.

The pushback comes when people act like he's an all-time great player off the strength of 1.75 elite NBA seasons.

That's when people are like :camby: Pump yo breaks.

Title doesn't say there was pushback to Curry's 'greatness'...there's pushback to his 'dominance'.

There's no pushback to Curry's dominance. Getting quotes from retired greats about how they'd stop Steph & The Warriors isn't a pushback. The Big 3 era Heat had a real pushback. The Warriors & Curry aren't there yet, sensitive Warriors fans...

You might have a point if the only ones commenting on their "not being there" were "retired greats", but it's not.
It's other players in the league (Hassan Whiteside just this week), owners (Mark Cuban just this week),
writers ("Shimmygate" this week), and dudes like you. You gotta be dense to think a team that is the standing
champion who is on pace to beat the all-time record for wins the next season isn't "there yet".

Back when it was looking like Durant was going to be the best player of this era no one said stuff like you gotta get physical with him(even though that actually works) and yet you have all these legends coming out saying they'd play him tighter and give him hard fouls.
Yes they did, and that's actually what opposing players (Tony Allen) did. Shut the fukk up.

In relation to the overall positive push that Curry and these Warriors get, the pushback is damn near nonexistent.

Keep in mind, this is common behavior through all eras.

To answer the questions mainly right now it's LeBron fans I think and hardcore Jordan fans who became LeBron fans because they don't like Kobe.

Durant was getting some shade during his run if I remember correctly.

However, Curry straight up destroyed LeBron and his legacy. Cats are furious. Dude hit the landscape like nothing we've seen so hardcore fans of other players pretty much have lost their shyt.

Then you have Chicago fans who feel very threatened right now. If Golden State beats their record and takes the title, then they'll have the greatest season in NBA history, non-debatable.

Not saying the above is true for everyone, but I'm willing to bet it's a significant amount and it's my best guess plus observations.

A lot of people really don't want to just accept things and move on. It happens in all walks of life.
:heh:

There needs to be a pushback on stupid ass posters.

Because the Warriors are the NBA equivalent of Drake. They're good, talented, on a hell of a run. But when millennials with no life experience go overboard with the Goat talk its just :mjlol: :camby:

Breh is right though, the "pushback" Golden State is getting is nowhere NEAR the pushback that Miami got.... hell, it's not even near the pushback that Heat squad got before they'd even played a game together.

Don't get defensive about it on their behalf. Warriors fans/Curry fans are being too sensitive. They aren't there yet in terms of criticism/pushback/hate. They're beloved compared to the Big 3 Heat and other dominant teams.

Whiteside has a beef with Draymond. Mark Cuban is always salty about everything. And Shimmygate was mainly about when people will turn on the Warriors, because they're doing things we kill other teams for all the time.

That's not pushback. That's simply having a conversation about them. Warriors fans don't know what pushback is yet. Curry doesn't know what pushback is yet. Just because it isn't the suckfest it was last season and earlier this year doesn't mean there's a real pushback.

The only place there's pushback building is on people's recency bias and everyone comparing him to ATGs instead of just enjoying what we're witnessing. And keep in mind, we're in a down time in the sports cycle, so Sports Media makes things up to talk about....

They look foolish trying to push back a team that has already won a championship and is on pace to win over 72 games. Pushing back on that exposes you as a hater.

But it is "pushback", doe.

The magnitude of it is not what's on trial here.

I'm taking what you say here with a grain of salt, given your username and status.

The issue should be that EVERYONE gets pushback though, so why is everyone so sensitive to Golden State's when they've actually gotten about as minimal of a pushback as you can get?

If we compare them to the last relatively dominant team - Heat - it's laughable in comparisons of pushback, especially in regards to accomplishment.
