So are Master P and Dr Dre tho

Master P is not really looked up to at all besides a few memes, he went bankrupt. They only know Dre from headphones he is too reclusive

Features with Drake, Kanye, J. Cole, and married to Beyonce kept him relevant. When Jay performed at the big So So Def anniversary concert, Jermain Dupri brought him out for Money Aint a Thang, then he asked Jay to spit Originator 99. He started rapping it twice and the crowd did not know the words, so he switched up quick to his feature on Clique and they ate it up.

And him embracing the pro black angle has kept him relevant as well.

He’s the ultimate Rapper/Hustler who flipped into a Corporate Boss. Thats a dream for thousands of African American men. PLUS he’s talented so his music mostly backs up his claims.

Plus he got the “Hottest Chick In The Game”

Jay is literally a genius at marketing the BEST of himself. Every W he’s gotten he’s not only let us know about it, but how easy it was for HIM to achieve while its harder for everyone else.

Even with 4:44. His most personal and fault acknowledging album is twinged throughout with triumph. Cheated on his wife? HE got her back. And didn’t have to deal with the shyt Future or Eric Benet did. Issues with Kanye? HE did cool by Kanye and one day when little brother grows up he’ll understand. Jay is the master at making winning look effortless

In Dallas, From Cleveland
No older rapper gets more love
At first I thought it was the money
But Master P and Dre got money too
Is it Beyonce?

Because he is literally the Blueprint

You can point out flaws or shyt hes done that you didn't like. But it terms of a rap career it gets no better. Heys like 50 now and when he drops a verse it becomes an event

why do y’all always say this crazy shyt :dead:

Every human on earth hops on current trends, weather it’s fashion, music, video games, cars, food, etc.

Right. nikkas on thecoli love to parrot this view and it's boring. And this is JUST thecoli because nikkas in real life don't spout these opinions

Jay z is the black hiphop DREAM. actual hustler turned rapper turned label exec. turned ceo turned BILLIONAIRE...

And midway through that managed to bag a genuine SUPERSTAR, an ICON level superstar, and then start a family with her too....

And nikkas really need to still ask why the young cats look up to jay? :mindblown:

Jay z one of the greatest but past 5 years he’s done some excellent marketing/ branding to push this narrative now that social media exploded. He’s got so much of the media/ influencers pushing the GOAT narrative. You see something enough you start to believe it’s reality

none of the OGs trying to push this in the same way.

For example, lot of instagram accounts do lot of throwback hip hop fashion posts referencing rappers but rarely Nas. When actually based on Nas’ influence on current fashion such as with bucket hats, army jackets, rugby’s, the haircut he should get lot of love. But he doesn’t try and push that narrative that he set trends back in the 90s.

people just reference Pac, Cam’Ron and what not when Nas influence was massive for the entire 90s style

People are slowly starting to give Nas his props for that. Several rappers over the past couple years have cited Nas as a 90’s fashion icon
