Garbage fan base. 5 seed that was 26th in attendance :mjlol:
They're always an average team without any big stars. No superstar is dying to come play with Milsap and Schroeder. They need to hit the reset, draft a star, and go from there. They've been stuck in limbo, the realm of mediocrity, forever. You'll never break the cycle, just blow it up.
Isn't that how they got here?

They were awful and drafted some young nikkas..added iso joe and been in the playoffs since(10years). That's a winning culture imo..

The same 5 teams won the last 30 years.

Anyways you say "blow it up" to end what cycle? They could very well be in the same spot

Nique is more loved now than he was in ha playing days, but don't mistake it, he was definitely royalty here during his playing days....

The thing is that Atlanta has a very weird relationship with its sports figures. There's not a whole lot of "pride"'attached to whether the teams win or lose. Think about Mick Vick. He was the Toast Of The Town here and when he got into the dog fighting situation the city didn't really step up in his defense. If that were Brady in New England he would've been defended to high heaven by the city.

The Hawks have been a perennial playoff team for years and the city just doesn't really care

What do you mean "step up in his defense"? There were a lot of people I know personally who stopped going to games, boycotted the Falcons and even blamed the Falcons & Arthur Blank for not supporting Vick. The tailgate around Falcons games (which were legendary when Vick was here) fell off completely. Vick divided the city and it took years for the Falcons to recover, so as a native Atlantan and Atlanta sports fan I would disagree with the "step up in his defense" argument.

I would also disagree with "not a whole lot of pride in its sports teams" bullshyt too. How are you making that argument? Based on what exactly?

nikka nobody shows up to the games. That's a shytty fanbase. We had way better attendance here in Philly and we're both ass and trying to lose. Atlanta was actually a good team that wanted to win.

A good fanbase shows up at the games if their team is a goddamn 5 seed.

Since you're so interested in attendance let's look at the Hawks and draw a correlation between record and attendance

2016-17: 43 wins, 26th in attendance
2015-16: 48 wins, 22nd in attendance
2014-15: 60 wins, 17th in attendance

I think the attendance=great sports fans argument is simple & lazy but if we're going strictly off of regular season attendance & ignoring the playoff games (which were sell outs BTW) in Atlanta more people show up to Hawks games when there's a better product on the floor

Must be some shyt in the front office. Seems like that's huge.

This. The Atlanta Spirit Group, who bought the team from Ted Turner and owned it up until Tony Ressler bought it a couple years ago, left a stain on the organization in terms of perception. Players and agents recognize that & it doesn't easily go away

Every playoff game is a sellout breh, that's what happens in the playoffs :russ: 8 seeds sell out playoff games easily. That doesn't mean shyt. A 60 win team being 17th in attendance is comical af and just proving my point :lolbron:The 60 win Hawks had the same attendance as the 28 win intentionally losing 76ers who played most of their games without Embiid, and Simmons never stepped foot on the court :mjlol:

Obviously you'll draw more fans based on how good the team is. I'm saying based on how good the Hawks are, it's totally out of proportion. No 60 win team should be 17th in attendance, especially in a market/city of that size. No 5 seed should be in the bottom 5 in attendance, the goddamn Suns blew you guys out the water in attendance this year :scust:

Teams selling out playoff games isn't always a given and never has been

And who cares about seeding? That's only solidified once the season is over . Fans aren't dumb, they're not sitting there in January sayin "oh shyt we're gonna be a 5 seed 3 months from now, let's grab our tickets" Fans care about the on court product and it's been mediocre this season. And I would disagree with you that the Hawks are good...43 wins is barely above average in a league where half the teams make the playoffs.

Fans in Atlanta want a championship caliber franchise in the Hawks, but when you have the middling mess of Kent WOATmore fumbling the ball out of bounds in crunch time or trading away fan favorite Kyle Korver that has an effect on ticket sales. It's not as simple as attendance=fan support as you're making it

So yall don't show up unless you've got a contender? That's sad breh, yall don't ride for ya team.

Fans were confident in their team making the playoffs, and didn't show up. That's sad.

When was the last time they were in the top half of the league in attendance? You're bias protecting ya city. Yall have been consistently in the playoffs like since 06, and haven't been in the top half of the league in attendance since 1989. The 57 win Hawks with Dominique, Kevin Willis, Mookie, Augmon, etc. in 94 were 22/27 in attendance. That's just not right. Made the playoffs the year before, and were dead last.

Why would I, as a player, go to a city where the fans don't even show up?
