To end this battle of wits with someone who is obviously unarmed, nobody gives a fukk about NYC. NYC made good rap back in the 90's and has rarely produced good music since then. Deal with it.

in actuality you seem to be giving alot of fukks about NYC in this thread.

& NY still makes good music til this day. you just CANNOT admit that. Your pride wont let you :manny:

Asap mob, joey badass and flatbush zombies are dope but for some reason NY cats don't support them :ld:
Ny is waiting on another 50 cent/jayz type rapper:childplease:

It's a generational thing. Older heads want another Jay-Z or Fif to lead a bunch of fatherless nikkas to do destructive bullshyt. Plus they hate that crime is decreasing and believe that lack of crime = making people soft :russ: . Can't prosper off of pain and misery.

What I don't understand is...why would you want to live in New York?

You can't tell me it is for the money. The standard of living it to high. The poverty line...fukking POVERTY LINE...is what...around 100k out there? You need to make a 100k just to not be poor. And come on? Who is making a 100k? You? Come on man...really? I mean...what major corporation has a major office in New York. I live in the dallas area, and in just one square block on Dallas Parkway you got major corporate offices for Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Mary Kay. In Las Calinas, within a two mile radius, you got a major Microsoft campus, and you got corporate offices for HP, Oracle, and Verizon. What does NY have? Name a company and I can give you a dallas area address where they have an enormous corporate office filled with high paying jobs.

You can't tell me it is for the "opportunity". You don't have any. You can't afford the standard of living, you can't get a job, you can't buy a car, you can't buy a house. I mean think about that...most New Yorkers will never...ever...in their lifetime...own a car or buy a house...like...how yall nikkas out here staying in apartments...forever? And then there is the gentrification...the little bit of stuff you nikkas do have the old white man is taking from you and running you out of your own state...Jay z fukking tricking you into building that damn Brooklyn Nets arena that raised the fukking land value so high the old rich white man just came through and told you to get the hell out because you were to poor to live their anymore...

It can't be the music. All of your popular artist sound like down sout artist. You gonna tell me Nicki sound like a NY artist? You gonna tell me Asap Rocky sound like a NY artist? Oh you don't fukk with them? You fukk with them flatbush zombie dudes? Will you seem to be in the minority since they sold just enough albums to afford a slice of pizza and lukewarm corn dog out of the vending machine. Your biggest artist right now are Jay Z and Nas...and both them nikkas is just rapping to rap at this point. Them nikkas been trying to pass the torch forever...but the only person who ever shows up to take it is Maino...

Like...how can you rep a state...that you are to poor to live in...with the white man pushing you out of it...with the standard of living through the roof...never owning a house...a car...any land...like...how can you do that on purpose?

:wow: killed head like its nothing.

I can't rep anything in life that I never own. Just principle as a human being.

List of New York companies includes notable companies that are, or once were, headquartered in New York. :usure::comeon::rudy: So you going to add in those companies that used to be based in new york.

And outside of the financial companies just about everyone of them have a corporate office in the dallas area...

A lot of black NYers own homes and cars? Post some stats. Because this one right here shows New York at the very bottom of home ownership states

http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/morning_call/2011/10/new-york-again-at-bottom-of-nations.html

So let me get this straight...New Yorkers have the lowest home ownership rate, but you telling me plenty of blacks own homes? What? How can you have gentrification and have "plenty of blacks own homes" at the same time?

This random link from the new york times says the percentage of people living in poverty in new york is on the upswing

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/19/nyregion/poverty-rate-in-city-rises-to-21-2.html?_r=0

So let me get this straight...you own the least amount of homes...your poverty rate is going up...the gap between the rich and the poor in your state is getting wider...but there are "many opportunities":rudy:

:camby:

You're right, come to think of it there are no opportunities in NYC :ohhh:people just keep moving here for some reason.:stopitslime:Do you know how many people live in NYC? Who told you there couldn't be gentrification and black home ownership at the same time? Why are you assuming the entire city is being gentrified in one fell swoop? How do you know some of the gentrifiers aren't black themselves? Gentrification is about class not race. NYC has a population of 8 million, even with home ownership at around 31%, that's still a lot of people. So what did you find wrong with me saying alot of blacks own homes?

http://www.dominionofnewyork.com/2011/10/05/blacks-buying-more-homes-in-nyc-now-than-10-years-ago/

Can you prove that all of those companies have offices in Dallas? That sounds like quite a general statement. Why didn't you cherry pick this sentence in the first link? This is a list of major corporations headquatered, currently and historically, in New York City, New York.

The only reason jobs move to Texas is because they are allowed to offer cheap labor with weak regulations. Talk that union shyt down there and they will probably run your ass out of town. Enjoy Texas!

there is so much that can be cited in this thread...but basically, pertaining to style, culture, hip hop, NY was always on some arrogant shyt. they never anticipated something like the internet coming along to expose people to many different things. NY stayed in a bubble. The entire generation of my family before me migrated to NYC. So, half of my cousins is from from there. When people started to move from NY to other places, the footprint of that style and culture expanded. Dont take this the wrong way, because I love NYC. Growing up I spent a lot of time there and wished I lived there full time.

nikkas showed love, but at the same time it was that arrogance that you were always beneath them. They always equated the south with being slow. It wasnt a good look though that every time a nikka got in some serious beef or drama in the drug game they had to run to the south. I have a cousin who is a famous dude in NYC history who fled to NC. Lived here and went to school with us before he returned to NY and went down in infamy. nikkas was always quick to say "nikkas aint run me outta NY". fukk u doin down here for then? I have quite a few relatives that did that shyt.

As time went on, most of my relatives moved out of NY. They just werent feeling it. It was too expensive, taxes too high, long commutes, not good place to raise kids, etc...They all livin good now and they dont go around shouting out or braggin on NY. They are in a good place and secure with themselves. Weak nikkas used to carry NYC around on their arms as a badge of honor. It spoke to their insecurities.

Lastly, NY nikkas always been about getting money. When the hip hop landscape shifted, NY forsook their creativity in lieu of money but were the quickest to yell sell out before that. I have a long history with NYC. I passed on record deals because labels were already trying to jerk nikkas, on top of that, they really tried to play you if you were from the south (even though back in the 90's, NC nikkas had a NYC sound as far as lyrics and production). Then the fact that NYC kept telling everyone that nobody wanted to hear people from NC. NYC shytted on and held a lot of people back, but in times things evolve and cant stay the same forever.

Fast forward to the present. A lot of the artists I know that signed, some even had gold records.....they not living better than I am. Why, because I was more than music, I am actually a smart dude with many avenues. Growing up, I embraced the NYC style and swag and a lot of it influenced me. As you get older, you tend to be able to distinguish the trivial and superficial. I wouldnt say that people hate NYC. Thats just not true. Most were influenced by NYC in some form or fashion. I just think as a whole NY has been humbled. Yet, you must use humility to learn from and move forward. That is something NY has just not accepted yet.

but see breh, thats why nikkas disrespecting NYC right there because of statements like that. My city will never be mentioned like NYC, but at the end of the day, it dont matter to me. You have to have substance to stand on at the end of the day or it dont mean shyt. Its superficial. I cant eat off of bragging about where I live. I cant get a job based on that. Thats not to single out NYC, but anyone who is doing that for any city/state. We livin good here breh...whether we are born and raised in the south or whether some of us moved back from NYC and retired here. At the risk of being redundant and cliche....it aint where u from....

Dallas must be doing something right...as of Feb 2013 forbes had the city ranked as the best city to find a good job ( aka a job paying well above minimum wage ).

http://www.forbes.com/sites/danielfisher/2013/02/25/texas-dominates-the-best-cities-for-good-jobs/

What is funny is that New York is not on this list...

But I see why...

New Yorker doesn't know the difference between a corporate office and a diner

As if this corporate office is not filled with high paying IT jobs, accounting jobs, business analyst jobs, c level management jobs...

And you clowning Dallas? Especially it's economy? Are you retarded? Again...forbes compiled a list of the top 25 cities in the US as far as economy goes...
http://www.forbes.com/pictures/eddk45edeml/americas-25-best-performing-cities-2/

Where is New York at?

That is another problem with New Yorkers...for all their talk about Bamma's...they are the most ignorant people on earth...nikkas in the south are coming up on land...nikkas in the south are starting to own business...every major corporation is moving their offices down here due to the cheap land, open space, and large number of college graduates...meanwhile, new yorkers out here getting kicked out of their 700 square foot walk in studio cause they can't afford the 1100 a month rent :bryan::bryan::bryan:

You're in here talking about "Where New York At?"

SERIOUSLY ???

NYC is a command center in the World Economy breh....

Last time I checked the GDP of the city was 1.1 Trillion.

The closest city to that is LA with a GDP of 800 million....

You're for real about that corporation shyt huh???

Or what about the startup scene here being second behind the Bay Area.

What about the Commercial Real Estate, Architecture firms, Film Production, Fashion and Retail, Publishing Houses, Advertising, Technology, Healthcare, Media, TV and Record Labels, Construction Companies, etc etc. All based here nikka?

Dallas is a regional economy and you seem to have a regionally minded view of things. NYC operates at a global scale every second of the day.

Y'all get excited about a Forbes list and a few new Skyscrapers.... Enjoy that.
