Why does Hip Hop love Scarface so much and yet The Godfather 1 and 2 gets overlooked

I came into this thread hoping to prove you wrong and list numerous Godfather related rap quotes.

So far all I could think of was:

tony montatna, the character is one of the lamest dudes next to kleinschmidt in a movie ever.
at least kleinschmidt was a fukk'n square lame over his head, tired of getting punked.
so, at least he tried to gain some dignity in his over the top stupidity.
scarface, was just totally a lame inept goofie.
only reason he got over was, because the dude he went over on..

You're faulting the movie for its deliberate portrayal of tony Montana as a dangerously rash gangster whose ascent to the top of the drug game was abruptly cut short by he own failings as a leader. His flaws are purposely shown, making it a classic moral tale for anyone in the streets. I think godfather is the superior film, but Scarface is great in its own right.

yet, the actual character of scarface.
the character that people praise was just wack, and lame.
every move he made was type ignorant.
that would never have amounted to what he gained on film.
that is my point,..
the glorification of the actual character.
instead of what should be praised and that is the cautionary tale.

the cautionary tale, is the brilliance of the film.
which is lost by inexperienced fanboys, glorifying a wack ass character.
that would not last but one outing in the streets for real.

I call it self hate because you make it see as if it isn't a specific kind of black that's disliked. All races are turned off by the ghetto, ratchet blacks that make up much of our ghettos. Even middle class blacks are turned of by them. You act as if there isn't some justification in that sentiment, as if there isn't a reason the behavior exhibited by many lower income blacks is seen as outrageous. The killings. The dependency. The lack of education. The absence of any motivation to work and contribute to society. ALL of us are sick of it. Blacks like me are tired of making excuses for the fukkups in our community. When I ask you to love yourself, I am saying that there are a lot of blacks who are trying to improve the face of black America and reach black excellence. When you say we are universally disliked, you ignore the productive and positive blacks who are making a change.

What you think im saying and what i am actually saying are polar opposites. I live in one of the blackest areas of the country. Some might say its the "hood" But its alot of beauty here. There are alot of good people here. But when you tell a non-black about the area they make off color comments. Why? We on the same side. I just dont like to hear my brand of think characterized as self hate. Because everything we do, guess what white folks do it too. But we are branded with negativity and judged not be the top of our community but by the bottom. No other race is defined by their worst. Whites aren't defined by their child molesters, meth addicts, etc. They dont get painted with the same wide brush.
