black people love to shyt on each other. :yeshrug:

just like any black person trying to make it in fashion gets shytted on when they try create their own designer clothing brands. that's why i don't talk shyt about kanye, or virgil, or any other black man trying to make it in fashion or other creative fields dominated by white people.

I've said the same thing about Kanye and Virgil. They're opening doors for the next Generation of Black fashion Designers. I respect that a lot.

Out here in my damn drawls
Sounds like some of you are trying to pair intellectualism with a lack of social skills

Black people are vibrant and expressive. This is why the art, music and talk is so different

If you are unable to appeal to your peer groups, you're probably going to be an outcast. You can be smart and still be cool

This is actually a BIG problem amongst us. I know for a fact that smart young kids hide and suppress their intelligence to appear more "hood" and"street". This happens often. A shift in our culture is needed. Ive said it time after time, but intelligence and education must become the new "cool". This is one of those topics that nobody wants to acknowledge.

Saw this countless times too over here in Europe.

100% same.

And its the same result...everytime. other races are the ones tha appreciate the talent and support them while black folks are the ones skeptical about them and criticizing them.

I'll tell you something as a black creative. With my latest collection...damn near all of my customers have been white. I actually went out of my way to get hispanic customers. I just wanted it to be more...universal so to speak.

I have never had a black customer buy any of my stuff. It boggles my mind. We would be operating the shop underneath the main store we rented it from and i would see tons of black folks spending their hard earned money at yet another white owned and operated establisbment just to rock those labels...but when i told them about my store...they would be like...:ehh:okay. And not come through.

This actually brings me back to the tariq boots thingy...now its one thjng if you dont like em...but to not even give it a chance? Doing business on a day to day level i really got some insights on what its like to be a black business person and a black creative. Too many of us really do believe the white guy or the non black guy's ice is colder...just cause.

We often complain about why there arent many black owned this or that...but then when those come...we dont support them...and then they go out of business and we are back to square one.

What creative fields are you in breh? DJ, and clothing?

Anyway I agree with you. Can't really formulate my thoughts right now about why it's this way, but yeah. Also a lot of Black people I know here in Europe (thus Africans and children of African migrants) are generally more conservative than White counterparts.

This is very recent and it's the result of us falling for the mind job that white supremacy has been feeding us.

Everything good is "white". Reading books, good credit, having a job, speaking clearly, on and on.

Everything bad is "black". Being late, being ignorant, government assistance, hyper sexuality, gangs, drugs.

Black people believe that white people own "reading" and "speaking clearly" such that they feel as if they are "acting white" when they do these things. Viola. The recipe for our doom. Us believing that being loud and late all the time is proper.

It's our own damn fault. If they can destroy us with hypnosis then we wasn't that hard to destroy.

Someone who is humble and show love will go a long way with any black person from any walk of life...

You gotta know how to maneuver with people who know they aren't in your league intellectual wise..

You dont gotta act like Einstein...

People wil be more receptive if you allow them to give their opinion even if you know its wrong...
sometimes you have to soothe their ego a lil..
People who are highly intellectual lack this understanding and it comes off as arrogant

I actually don't know any black people who do this, so :childplease:. I don't know where any of this even comes from.

Even the dudes I know who live "that life" always congratulate and appreciate those who are educated and accomplished. In fact, a lot of them say they wish they could do the same. I know hustlers who take their kids to school every morning and make sure they're bringing home A's and B's. For real.

Stop using these 20 year old Chris Rock jokes to push a narrative that only affects you. Maybe you give off an aura that makes you think you're better than certain black folks and therefore they don't care or respect your accomplishments (whatever they may be). Might be a little :mjpls:.

im just gonna say it, white supremacy

Many African Americans in our community still have the mentality that we dont prepare for our future. A lot of us will tell you "we dont do that". Millenials were raised by idiots who didnt care about nothing and unfortunately a lot have that mentality.

OP and a few other posters in here sound like they've watched The Wire and CNN's Black in America, put a few hours in at a community center on a Saturday and are now experts on black issues in America. :jbhmm:

Judging "hood" and "street" people when you wouldn't even have a conversation with anyone from that ilk :mjlol:
