Why does James Harden shoot so poorly in the playoffs?

The refs are not bailing him out by calling fouls when he's clearly taking bad shots.

This and nothing else...his overall shot selection is in the J.R Smith realm of bad...

This goes unnoticed in the regular season cause he flops so much, and the refs call it so much, he ends up getting a ton of freethrows, and then teams just end up saying "we not going to rack up fouls on this dude" and just give him open looks which he is definitely good enough to knock down...

But...in the playoffs..games tighten up and you got to earn a call...the refs will not give you one...

Uh oh now you notice James Harden is actually a little akward with the ball and trips over his own feet a lot

Uh oh now you notice James Harden picks his dribble up A LOT for just no reason

Uh oh now you can contest those deep 3's he takes...

Uh oh now he is not smart enough to realize he is not getting the flop calls, continues to flop, and when that used to be an and 1 and a freethrow, now it is just a turnover and fast break for the other team

Every game the refs don't step in is a game that James Harden will threaten the record for lowest field goal percentage in a playoff game

The end of game 1 is one of the ugliest endings to a playoff game I seen in a minute...your star player dribbles into the teeth of a defense, picks up his dribble, tries to flop, then heaves the ball at the basket...

Yikes

TS should close this thread before Walt comes in here and blows it to pieces...

Oh shyt to late I see he already posting in it :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Just talking the numbers they put up:

Redd: 25-4-3 45%, 40%
Heliflopter: 25-6-5 46%, 36%

In fairness to Redd, in his best season he took the Bucks to the playoffs without the support 'Flopter had and put up 27 a game on 52%, 47% from 3.
Redd got his 45% from mostly perimeter shots. Harden is not nearly as wet from the mid range like prime Redd was.

I don't think their games are similar at all, the numbers are deceiving :manny:

Oh, trust, I'm not comparing their games at all. Just pointing out that there have been plenty of SGs who put up big numbers for 2-4 seasons. The rush to crown 'Flopter is what makes his performances seem even more underwhelming.

Redd was at least a great shooter and Joe Johnson got way more to his game than Hardenn. And a better hairline.

This. Joe Johnson is actually borderline money in the clutch. Has a nikka ever iced so many games with long two's while have immaculate waves and hairline...

Just don't really on hims before those final 3 minutes though...
