why does masculinity always have to be "proved"

But as an ALPHA I would be hard wired to understand the importance of my brother's strength and how it would be more beneficial to US as a pack then him or me, solo. I would also understand that me, him or ANYONE is above the survival or our way of life where there's equal sacrifice, and if he challenges that for his own selfish reasons I would have to sympathetically kill him and the pack would understand.

Masculinity has to be "proved" to the "weak" who covet the "power" and not the responsibility ...Alphas become alphas by being strong enough to appreciate the betas and not dismiss them as not needed. Subsequently he's GIVEN leadership, and it could NEVER be taken.

Wolves and Lions both either kill or abandon selfish leaders....so do humans.

Being tested is the only time you should have to prove yourself. You shouldn't be going out of your way to test yourself. That's how nikkas end up biting off more than they can chew.
