I think this one of the genuine times were black americans are truly misinformed. A lot of times africans exaggerate about how much we don't know about the world but in this case a lot of us are clueless.

A lot of us just see Black leader, checked white people >>>>>>>>>>. For a long time we have been oppressed so to see any type of black person in a big position is a plus for us, no matter how bad he is.

but its deeper than that. Mugabe (and dictators like him) should not be praised.

The issue i have notice with blacks all over the world is we unite on flimsy/feel good but unrealistic concept of black nationalism. That is completely out of touch with reality. We don't have enough of a capitilistic mindset in areas that matter. We are materialistic not capatilistic.

I dont't believe in socialist movement it has done nothing for us and will continue to do nothing for us.

Mugabe could have done things so differently if he cared for his people, but the dude only cared for his own and his cronies hip pocket. What hes done to his country since independence is a textbook example of what no newly independent african nations should never do for the purpose of progress. He should have taxed the white zimbabwe farmers more instead of taking their lands to fund education programs for the youth who would eventually takeover the agricultural industry, use Zimbabwes resources such as diamonds to fund modernisation programs and to encourage investment. He could have just followed Botswana model who had a similar situation to zimbabwe

They all know it's about singing praises for him and they are safe. He is a fan of Mao style personality cult leadership and the one party state model. Every opposition leader from Joshua Nkomo, Tekere, Tsvangirai, Ncube, Sithole and even Mujuru have at one point been accused of treason based on his strategy of having only ZANU as the governing party. The use of political violence even got embarrassing for SA which backed him politically that they forced him into a coalition Government in 08. If you follow the day to day politics of Zim you would know he is past his sell by date, the guy re-read a speech in Parliament that he already made for 30 minutes without realising his mistake.

Exactly, they never seem to be nearly as critical to their European or Arabic leaders who are FAR more crooked and evil..
