I think because R&B is played when it comes to being done by R&B artists these days. Seems like this generation of fans are more content with nikkas who can't sing as oppose to those who can. It's not all the way their fault. Cause you gotta look at what they grew up listening too. What was mainstream for the last 10 years before she came along? Not a lot of great shyt to be honest.

Sevyn,Elle Varner,Keyshia Cole,K.Michelle

The music industry completely turned their backs on black female r&b singers

Keyshia Cole on Love and Hip Hop Hollywood now. I guess she figure that was the only way to get back on there. The crazy thing is, it can work but at the same time, it's still sad. Cause it's not even about the music with a lot of people no more.

But I mean this shyt is fire...

By artists? or just black artists.....because man if ed sherran or adele drop a soulful record the world goes crazy and so amazed by their unique vocal cords.

Heck we don't even talk about it on here....

I mean this is a beautiful remake :wow:

Another slept artist that just happened to find on youtube is Dreezy:

I literally hear the same wack rihanna and DJ Khaled song on the radio all the time, when there's a lot of dope music that coming out but gets no radio play :scusthov:

Her videos come off as non believable and try hard. Because of this fans see her as unauthentic.....

And the song is cool...why the fukk does Ty Dolla keep recycling old school songs with his biting ass
I get that but she's making music......I'm listening for her voice....but she does have a tendency to make songs about getting cheated on....a lot.

I mean I wouldn't cheat on her fine ass
unless something better came along and I could get away with it :hubie:

Black artists. You see how bad it is for us out here. They not letting us get shine unless it's Beyonce or Rihanna when it come to to Pop/R&B. (Rihanna ain't R&B but Pop)

White people have always capitalized off our shyt and ate better off of it. That's always been. Think back to Elvis and the fukking Beatles.

Back to the music of today. A lot of people go for that bullshyt these days. Music for a while been on some bullshyt for a loooooooooooong time, it's just it's gotten worse with time. R&B got a foot stuck up it's ass and got shown the door years ago when rappers started diluting that bytch and trying to sing. R&B started losing it's way once the mid 2000s hit. It went through a weird twilight zone and then you had a bunch of no singing ass nikkas "singing" and it just became about a lot of posing and images. Then rappers came along and starting trying to be R&B singers and fukked it up even more.

As for that Dreezy joint .I fukked with that Dreezy joint so damn hard. I LOVE that song!

It's a lot of dope R&B artists out here, artists like Teedra Moses, Bilal, Goapele, and so on but because mainstream is on some bullshyt and monkey see monkey do ass hoe shyt, we get what we get. :francis:

Yeah I'm aware of the pay to play, but how's that stop us from discussing and sharing antedates about the music. There were literally no threads on this forum about her. LIke her catalogue doesn't exist. And there's still a lane for these artist because my gf somehow knows about every r&b artist out there.....

But I feel you investing in satellite. I can't take radio anymore.

Breh Shade 45 plays out my day....Sway in the morning....Sear in the afternoon...and Rude Jude in the evening....and they play different shyt ALL the time...I hear more new or unheard artist there then any other platform...

Sway had her on a few weeks ago to promote her album too...shes somewhat a regular...at least 2 interviews a year...for the last couple years at least...although her debut album flopped so it might be a wrap for her..

Yeah it's like they're stuck ghostwriting if they want to truly blow up.

But I just smh whenever white pop artist can come out with a soulful hit, get praised for it, go quadruple platinum, then go on to sell out tours in stadiums of 70,000. It's ridiculous. I'm not even against the rappers trying sing and vice like ja rule, drake, trey songz. The real death blow was the pay to play. The corporatism that puts image and perception on a pedestal. That pay to play, essentially faking a hit is what soley killed r&b. Instead of hearing talented peeps, garbage artist who cant sing but can stay in the public eye through scandals and what not.....

Yeah I just heard about her a couple months ago. I'm about to go through her discography next.....

All I'm saying if "we" as a community her on the coli listen to these artist, how we ain't making more threads and doing album discussions, exchanging music and what not..... I'm always looking for that next wave soulful shyt too, to play with my girl.....

and yeah i hear you.....Dumb down music to double your dollas.....
