This is so accurate

that's why I use the analytics vs eye test (or ear test in this case) comparison, cause you can use all the soundcloud and streaming info you can, be it only takes actually being places and legit having a feel for things to let when know what's actually hot vs internet hot. Hopsin has videos/listens pushing 65+ million views. Who do you know in person that listens to him? Ain't saying people don't know PND, cause clearly they do, he's linked to one of the biggest rappers (singers?) today, people just have to pump the brakes on who they think is huge or not. I knew there was a shift in the rap game when back in 2010 when Soulja Boy had massive publicity for his upcoming album, including 1 huge single and another single that did very well. His album dropped and sold the exact number as Ghostface Killah did less than a month later, from an album that was basically a bunch of b-sides, with not an ounce of media push. I'm one of GFK's biggest fans and didn't know it was coming out til two weeks prior. People shouldn't get so offended that the artists they are willing to take bullets for make songs that may not hit as much as they think they do, regardless of the views/streams they get.
