Y'all really don't like NY on here, and I want to know why. Born in Raised in BK, moved to LA years ago, and they don't have a NY complex out here. Spent a lot of time in VA and North Carolina through the years because my family is down there, and they don't have a NY complex. So what is about y'all on here?

It's always "NY takes another L" "Another overrated NY rapper" "All these new NY rappers are garbage" every time I see a thread talking about NY rappers, outside of the legends.

Like y'all hate A Boogie, Cardi, Dave East, Casanova, Tekashi but if they were from another region, I feel y'all would champion them. Y'all don't fully respect the Fab's, Cam's, 50's, Bank's, Kiss of the world even.

Inferiority complex? Was NY talking too much shyt? You really think they're garbage? What's the reason?

I skimmed through this thread. I’m surprised not many touched on the actual music.

I honestly believe some of this post stems from NY projects that you seem to hold in high regard, yet the rest of the Coli doesn’t feel the same.

I’ll give you an example. You loved the Kay Slay album that came out last year. However, you had plenty of people such as myself that thought it was awful due to the poor beat selection. Is that really hating? The consensus was it was trash, yet you seemed to gravitate towards it.

In all honesty, the newer artist you listed just sound like knockoff southern/ Midwest artists. The reality is no one can do those regions like them just as no one can do NY like NY.

Finally, I do feel the perspective of certain NY artist is just different if you aren’t from NY. NY will tell you Jadakiss is top 5, yet I don’t think the guy can could put together a good album. Therefore, to me it’s just mind boggling that many feel that way about a guy more suited for a group. Many people feel that way. Fab is also very similar in that regard, but he’s been able to put together some strong mixtapes. Cam consistently puts together bad projects cheap production and poor engineering, and then come of with some of the corniest samples. Dime after Dime? Really? What kind of opinion do you expect ? The COC/Roc days are long gone.

A lot of those Ny artist (jada,fab, cam) don’t put out good albums. Their best work is with mixtapes, and you have to be a hardcore fan to really check for those.

However, if you are from NY, perhaps you don’t feel that way at all. Maybe you believe Jadakiss actually puts out good albums.

It’s all subjective.

Look through my history, I hold a lot of West and Southern albums as just as high regard as East Coast album. I'm not talking heavy hitters either. I'm talking acts that the average person never heard of. I talk about Bad N-Fluenz Clique like they're Mobb Deep. lol. I'm more partial to sounds of music than regions.

And my beef isn't really with them not being big on the albums or artists I'm big on. Everyone has their own opinions. To me, it's more about the extra hate NY gets. There's a lot of terrible rappers. When a NY rapper comes out and is posted on here, it's flooded with people saying "Another shytty NY rapper" "LMAO NY fell off soooo bad". It's like a glee and jovial reaction that a rapper is bad from NY, and their threads are usually filled with people who hate them but will continue to post about them all the time. Rappers I don't like, I don't even enter threads about them or post about them. I never see NY posters obsessively post about South, West, London, Canadian, Mid West artists they don't like. And they definitely don't consistently enter threads about them and say stuff like "LMAO another trash South artists. Atlanta takes another L".
