Gyms play light non-threatening music to attract more new customers. The people who keeps the lights on at gyms are the people who never show up. The environment has to be comfortable enough for them to brainwash themselves that they will be there 4-5 days a week. If they were playing true workout music, those sheep would never join out of intimidation.
Noise canceling bluetooth head phones with controls. Goes around your neck and plugs into your ears and your phone can stay in your bag up to 50 ft away. Im never using another head phone again
Another good thing about lifting at 6am is that not a lot of people are there and you can just ask the staff to play your fav music or radio station instead.
Most of the time it's for spin class or some shyt; the gym I go to plays pop techno crap for the folks in spin classes (the spin classes are on the open bridge in between the two halves of the track).
The dusty gym I go lift at during lunch doesn't even play music. Only thing you hear is nikkas grunting, and the sounds of plates being moved. The Gold's Gym I lift at in the evening with my son, on the other hand.... Some of the gayest music I ever heard. One time I had left my headphones at the crib, and I was about to do some squats and deads there. Could barely get into it with that skinny jean music playing.
i could never rely on someone else's music selection for big power days. it's gotta be my own playlist on my own ipod. but yeah, the selection of music they playt at the gym is ultra poppy. half that sh!t ain't even what i would consider a pumped up version of the poppy crap on the radio.
My new gym is the worst shyt. I am living in Spain for the year and have just got myself a gym. The music, Elton John and John Lennon, shyt like that. Candle in the wind the other day and Imagine.
