Don't get me wrong, I love Angela Bassett and she's a great actress but she's in a comic/Marvel movie. She's basically played herself in Black Panther so it's def an easy role for her. So I can see why she didn't win.

Lowkey this is more about writing, you need to think about the roots of a tree. Writing is the most important part of the film industry, more black male writers are needed. The Woman King was written by a white british woman who twisted the facts of the story so much to fit an agenda that even hollywood liberals were like

All you need is a few writers to change everything. That's the issue with Tyler Perry, what he is doing is incredible but the writing is holding him back, if he just gave a chance to some young hungry breh's who can write (I know they are out there) great things could happen.

I've seen Banshees, EEAO, and Wakanda. JLC's performance was the weakest out of Bassett, Hsu and Condon's. To be completely honest, it should have went to Hsu.

This happens every year. As long as Hollywood is predominantly white they'll always give themselves preferential treatment compared to everyone else. Black people need to make their own award shows and treat it, like they treat the Oscars.

You're admitting black people have their own award shows, are they of lesser value in the film industry?
Do we want to acknowledge white validation at the expense of dealing with racism is greater than independent black achievement or is it about getting paid in a system of white supremacy?
Black people can still get paid while maintaining a credible, financially lucrative, critically laudable career in a system of white supremacy while having their own independent, prestigious award show to rival the Oscars. We already have our own award shows and people in the film industry who can do what they do.

He also serves as either producer or executive producer on many of the projects he works on…namely AFTER winning the Oscar
