Yes but most of the raps labeled as "freestyles" are writtens. Nowadays a freestyle is just a free verse about any subject, nobody does it off the top

"Nobody" does it cuz most of these bum ass rappers nowadays don't have the skill to do it. If you consider yourself an MC, sh*t shouldn't even be up for debate. It's not like freestyling is the equivalent of learning quantum physics. If you're serious about your craft, it's something you should be able to do fairly easily.
Ok but why is this thread singling out Drake specifically for it? When rappers like Kendrick, Cole, and a lot of other ones who I wouldn't call "bum ass rappers" don't do it or when they do its not very outstanding

You do realize the initial definition of freestyle as stated by Big Daddy Kane and Kool Moe Dee wasn't off the top but simply a verse free of style and subject matter. I don't ever think I heard Nas go off the dome still the GOAT.

I love how that's the go to excuse for cats. The whole "well, a freestyle didnt always mean off the dome". What does that have to do with my original post?
It also doesn't help your argument that i've seen or heard everyone you mention go off the top with the exception of Kool Moe Dee.
Freestylin isn't the end all be all, but people really need to stop making excuses for these dudes. They dont go off the dome cuz they cant.
For the record, im not even that big of a Skyzoo fan, (though Torae has been a fav of mines for years), but I acknowledge his talent and skill as an MC, as shown there.
