He doesn't come from the struggle and has no real connection to socioeconomic hardship. He doesn't comment because he knows he doesn't have the proper perspective to rap and speak on certain issues.
This is the entire basis of pop music though. Making a pop song is like horoscopes. Plus, he doesn't have that type of depth. You're wrong @2manyFCKNrappers. We need to stop giving people excuses for being ignorant to topics. It's like white people claiming that they don't get racism. They do, they just choose to look away. Someone who is half-black and a hip-hop head most definitely knows how black americans feel about society. If the weeknd can donate to Black Lives Matter and his man 40 can speak about it as a white guy, then he definitely has no excuse. He even complained that people have told him that he doesn't get the black american struggle and he always complains that people feel that he's not "black enough." Following his interview prior to More Life in the UK, I did a mock interview where I would ask fictional follow up questions based on what he said about race.I mentioned that in the album thread...
I feel like he chooses the most generic things to make songs about in an effort to relate to as many ppl possible.
Drake: Man you know, I’ve really been grateful in my life to be born in Canada and just the journey that I had growing up was so… it was just a very accepting journey. I always had friends from all different backgrounds, from different walks of life, we all get along, I never really notice colour, religion, we don’t live like that. And I know I’ve said that time and time again, but it truly is, it’s made up of so many beautiful people from beautiful places and you get to actually learn and you don’t ever develop hate. You know, the first time I really experienced it, was when I got famous and went to America and people would challenge me, like I don’t understand how it works or like “your Canadian, you’ll never understand, like the Black American struggle, or you’ll never under…..” That was the first time I really got challenged, and it was by people I had met from America that were like even close to me at the time.
Zee: You never notice color? Everyone notices color. You’ve made a bunch of jokes in your raps referencing race such as “they got me on these white women like seal nikka, slave to the p*ssy but I’m just playing the field nikka.” You realize that having a diverse group of friends and not experiencing racism are two different things right?
I’m assuming that you’re not insinuating that Canada does not have any racial trauma. People have held up Black Lives Matters banners in Canada. Of course it’s different than maybe the “Black American” struggle as you call it. How do you see the experiences of a black person in Canada versus the United States? Obviously, there is not one universal experience.
bytch I was at workNo. Why can't you come up with a proper response to make your case. I asked you a point blank question earlier and you avoided it. You obviously love the slave mentality of waiting for massa to give you a handout and all people of color need to do "social responsibility" work. Stop it.

You should click and keep reading. He talks about when he finally did recognize racism and his answer wasI stopped reading after I never notice color .
Anyone that says that is just a dumb ass and a racist .
It's one of my biggest pet peeves white people say .
Breh even the interviewer saidYou should click and keep reading. He talks about when he finally did recognize racism and his answer was.
OP stank p*ssy having ass believe hiphop was founded and gained popularity of social commentary/ responsibility
'Conscious' rap is for some, not for others - Get used to it..
OP stank p*ssy having ass dont know anything about hiphop if she believe social commentary is supposed to be a part of your domain and subject matter as a rapper
Didn't he just say he didn't experience racism coming up or some shyt like that? But then suggests that if he "spit some conscious shyt" he could take Kendrick's fanbase. Only time you'll hear him speak on any kind of "struggle" is when some other rapper is on his ass.
Meek: You don't write your shyt!
Drake: But what about police brutality though![]()
Thats actually not facts, but imma let yall retards fume and cook in peaceFacts
