Dude...Im about done with thsi thread...I keep answereing the same question. Whitefolks aint putting Black rappers at #1 this decade...Thats it. Bottom line. There's the answer to ya question. This decade has seen no Black rappers at number 1. When whitefolks get ready to they'll put one there just like they always do.....In teh meantime they put Iggy there.

and how much of a petty no life having loser would u have to be to even go there? Imagine some "nobody" actually walking up to Drake and saying that. LMAO....Whats next? You gonna step to Canibus and ask him why there isnt any proof of him punching someone so hard in the chest that their shoulders touch??

Thats not a great point at all. Rakim can go over the globe and do songs from his first album and get a response as well....LL Cool J and KRS have globally acknowledged hits...and neither of them have billboard #1's just like Drake

I didn't make the thread man, but the person that did is talking Billboard Charts. Also LL Cool J does have a #1 single, his feature with J LO. Who said anything about KRS or Rakim couldn't tour? This is about the power of a #1 single. But Sir Mix A Lot can still perform "Baby Got Back" cause a #1 hit does that, it travels around the world. I already made my point about Drake's quality in his albums. And though they were features, T.I., Ludacris KanYe and Pharell are black rappers that did have a #1 single this decade.

LL never had a #1 dog...that song with J Lo only went #2. And Drake has a #2.

and youre all overthe place......are you talking about hit songs or billboard#1's?? Cuz Drake has a bunch of hit songs he can travel around the world with homie.....I dont get where u going with this at all.

Dude....You do understand that your reach with the feautures destroys ops argument....Thats a point for me homie...not the OP....LOL....You supposed to be helping his argument not mine........Drake was on a #1 feature as well this decade so why would u even bring features up?? OP is talking Billboard#1 solo..not features.

Putting all the stan shyt aside, OP does have an excellent point purely in the context of people using "it's all over the radio" as justification for quality.

 My bad, I saw that in @ISOMELO post and ran with it :manny:

I didn't answer the thread cuz I ain't caught up in all this who sold more, who got more #1s, etc. But I do agree it's odd someone in Drake's position has no #1s. Then again, Jay didn't have a #1 single until Empire State of Mind, so it's still possible for Drake. It all depends if he can follow Jay's path and be that guy who is always one of the top dogs, even when he isn't THE top dog. But with the fast food style music industry these days anything could happen. :ehh:
He went to some type of event for So Far Gone and met Drake point stands :manny:

I'm a Drake fan. He has hits for days, and he's the guy on radio now. I will say I'm surprised he doesn't have a Hot 100 #1 as a lead artist yet. To be fair though, it's not like it's easy. Jay-Z didn't get it until 13 years after his major label debut. Eminem's most popular album of all time didn't have his first #1. It was a song off of a soundtrack. So, I feel Drake still has plenty of time to do it.

Because people who listen to Drake can listen to it on their personal devices and probably don't care to request it on radio, nor do they listen to radio anyway. They buy or download is projects and listen to it for themselves. Also, Drake makes the type of music for a certain type of vibe....nobody wants to hear Drake driving in their car. His type of music isn't really for radio.

I thought it was the opposite? I thought he made music perfect for the whip?

Just as J Prince and Wayne both said when first hearing him, he sucks. Could this be the reason why? No real talent there imo. I don't know why the game thought it would be cute to make him into a rap star. I guess the Synagogue of Satan got bored one day and wanted to try something new.

Still no answer and you're right. He has the advantage of being able to sort of sing too. People always talk about how melodic he is, he should have a couple of #1s by now.
