On a serious note: Biological measures have been used to lessen animal population before. They infect them with a disease to kill off a large portion.

They actually do it to fish more often than you think.

And eventually they would get hip to the fact warfarin or Coumadin was killing them off in the masses and avoid it..or make genetic mutations to protect themselves

Which is why I said things like; there are multiple possible chemicals as the main requirement is that it reduces blood clotting. Efficiency and feasibility are definitely primary concerns though.

That's how a lot of them are... I remember I went to a predominantly AA school for a couple years and it would break my heart everytime I heard them say to someone "man you stupiid yo" "shut up dummy" Not just to me but anybody who they disagreed with

Funny enough, i don't know if you know this, but a lot of commercial rat poisoning is actually just Vit D now. They stopped using warfarin for safety concerns.

There is no reason to...or I should say, its not worth the money it would take to eradicate rats on such a large scale to the higher ups.

I'm not a virologist, or toxicologist...but i do have more training than most in areas. Here's my educated opinion on why rats is harder than fish to deal with. Rats have a very similar biology to humans. Thus, using that method to kill them would likely result in us getting sick too at some point. With fish, its easier to develop something that wouldn't cross over because their physiology is so different.
