We let G Funk die, which is why i feel like it's appreciated the way it is.

IMO that's why KDAY did so well when it relaunched, cause we left all our old stuff in the past, and didn't keep trying to remake the same music over and over.

I loved the G funk/mobb era and I don't want a rehash or nuthing....but funk music should always be the foundation of the west coast sound imo....I don't wanna just hear gfunk beats tho

Kendrick Lamar "Swimming Pools" was Houston influenced too.

Just because a nikka mentions the word "Drank" in the chorus doesn't make it Houston influenced. Y'all need to understand the difference between influence and a simple mention.

No one is trying to hear G-Funk, not even people on the Westcoast.

As far as there being different groups, sure, taking those and getting them into beats people would feel that don't sound like re-done versions of previous g-funk beats not so much.

I admit the bay was largely responsible for that sound which la is jocking, people outside of the bay thought that hyphy was a big joke back in the mid 00s. But now you have 2 chainz I'm different, Drake the motto, tyga rack city which relied on that bay sound, and some la artists yg, problem, joe moses, and the ratchet scene owe they life to the bay.

It's like the bay gets snubbed & copyed
