They do IG content for a decade and maybe a shytty movie they're not skilled for.

Ain't getting on a sitcom one of the best routes to get established and getting experience?

Nearly all 80s/90s comedians had a show down the line (Martin,Bernie Mac,Damon Wayans,Eddie Griffin etc). I get times have changed but even vets like Mike Epps stay on tv
Probably happen one day

They would need to do more pilots.

A sitcom requires a certain amount of money, writing, and acting that may come as a shock to the uninitiated.

If they pitched, they might get the money and some resources for TV format.

You beat me to it.

It cost MONEY!!!!!! To throw together a pilot. You're not filming a pilot on an iPhone. You're not using a dope camera and gimbal set up. Even if you come out with a dope pilot thats polished on your own, you gotta sell it to someone then you gotta play ball. Time schedules, wardrobe, lines, directions. Some cats do some dope skits and it's pretty easy to set up amateur lighting, get 'decent' sound and shyt but pro lighting, sets, location, editing....it's mad different. Youre not snowballing with your friends anymore.

Above the fray.
Also actual stand-up comedians spent years on the road building their audiences. City to city, state to state.
When their agents are pitching them for projects, they can at least say that he's crossed the country X amount of times and headlined in market A,B,C. People in different areas at least know his name and have paid to see him.

Sitcoms have writers, the comedians/actors on screen aren't coming up with all the dialog. All the IG comedians need is the acting experience.

I remember in a recent Charlemagne interview with Vlad TV that he interviewed like 50 internet comedians to come on a TV show he was doing and he said only TWO actually had the public speaking and camera ready talent to deliver content. That is crazy lol

I'm a comedian and yes. All of this.

Comedy, on the industry level, happens anywhere. But certain clubs hold weight because of scouts with monopoly money.

If and when these IG comedians do stand up, they fight an uphill battle unless they have a knack for stand up. Most don't. Hell, most stand ups in the pool ain't all that.

That and ig skits and YouTube skits work because your used to that format.

If you know anything about cinematography, film, tv....the way it's shot, the angles.....You'd be pissed watching these cats on NBC. We laugh cause they're short and it's usually to the point. What hurts them on actual tv, is what helps them on youtube/ig. Those weird angles, fukked up cuts, even mismatch audio levels. One person is louder than the other even though they're talking to each other, someone yells and the audio distorts.

There's a huge difference between tv and ig. You don't hear people's footsteps, you don't hear the glass or cup clink when they put it down, shyt you really don't hear doors open or shut even when characters enter and exit even though you see it, unless it's intended. You don't hear couches make noise when people sit down. For the most part a lot of ig/youtube sketches don't have a lot of that either.

But you've seen tubi movies and cheap ass syfy movies...the sitcoms would just be terrible.

Go to YouTube and search for tv shows without laugh tracks and see how awkward they are. A lot of the skits are just filmed cause they know you can just rewind or play it again.

Most of these IG/Tik Tok comedians aren't that funny and/or talented enough to create content that's longer than 3 minutes
