its a fair question but the pay isnt high enough, your putting your life on the line every single day and a lot of cities require you to live in the city you work in or at least a decent radius. some of us have families and dont wanna live in the city

Best friend just became a cop recently. He was one of only three or four people in his class so it's not getting any better.

And the criminal justice major at my college probably had the most black people in any major besides sociology. Most of them are trying to be corrections officer or security though.

the thing is one or two black officers in a PD won't make much of a difference but if you can 20% (or more) of the force as black ppl it will be a whole lot harder for them to be forced to act out whatever white agenda you guys thing there is.

this isn't just about locking other blacks up(because they break the law) but about being a POSITIVE representative in the community.

a black officer would more than likely be more inclined to cut a dude a break for something petty(just like white cops to white ppl). sometimes all someone needs is that "break" to get them on the right track.
why is that a bad thing?

the problem with our society now is there is a HUGE divide betweethe citizens and the copseven alot of white ppl hate cops)
if we can get an equal representation of police officers to the population then maybe we'd have a better chance of fair justice(100% fair is impossible in Amerikkka, but any change is better than no change)

more black(or all minorites) cops, more politicians, more ppl in positions of power = GOOD THING
