Eh...
I'd imagine for tours and such it's expensive not to mention time consuming to schedule and arrange for people to get together. I'd got to think that many of those guys who could actually rehearse with live instruments would be torn between different obligations which would even make recording and such difficult unless it's for some novelty side project or one-time affair.

In other words, it's cheaper and easier not to use a band.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I would say because it's cheaper and easier to not use a band. But that shyt is dope tho
this is your answer.. cause not only do you have to hire a live band for the show.. which for a good one, which cost you a couple thousand.

but you also need to practice with them.. it ain't a dj with a cd, they gotta flow and know their set and how you're gonna stop and pause parts and use different beats.... that's gonna cost you too

so you getting 5k for a club, you ain't doing that.. maybe stadium tour.. but waka flocka over live drums aint better than that beat pumpin through the speaker.. you gotta have the right music and voice and lyrics.. that's why you usually only see it from successful artist and that's after they made it..

it's something special to have going on

No it couldn't ..the music isn't meant to be live as in a band playing it..the drums on old skool drum machines like 808s and 909s sound totally different than live drums..then you got sampling....a live band can't play samples..

:comeon:

what are you kidding me? of course they can.

there are many ways to set up and trigger samples in a live performance.

***snorts 8seconds**

Most rappers could careless about sound, alot of em are lazy as fukk, its easy for them to bring in a beat cd or a mix cd vs putting together a band that gels together.

most rappers are greedy, u think a meek mill, jeezy, hell a drake who get a 30-500k , tryin to split that up with 5-6 other nikkas

some rappers just rap, they dont know shyt bout eyeline, tone control, sound quality,

havin a live band means alot of these rappers need to make to the venue soon as the janitor gets there, alot of these rappers dont realize time is money, when it comes to a band, you can just bring your ass in 30mins before the showends with a band like you can with a cd, and too lazy to invest in music notation software to develop sheet music for band.

You would never thought a cat like bizzy bone could perform live with a band and knew the kinks of doing it vs somebody like drake or big k.r.i.t.

Bizzy was taught by one of the best in the business, quik 1 of the only producers in the rap game, who doesnt just rely on samples, drum machines and shyt, he has used live instruments since the early 90s, safe + sound is one of the earlier west coast albums that had live music on it, he actually had members from funkadelic/parliament playing on his album vs jus sampling them.

bringin bernie worrell, george clinton and gary shider and a couple of donald byrd's session players, adding them to robert bacon(who been quiks guitar player for yrs) and g-1( quiks drummer since 92) was :bryan:, quik learned which led to him putting together his own group for when he plays live

( the only time a producer from quiks era performed his greatest hits live with a live band)
