No disrespect but the answer is pretty obvious. People hire those they can either relate to or tolerate. No different than the stories about large IT companies saying people who are not a cultural fit to hire. Second some immigrants play the game well. For example, wife will claim single in the states and qualify for government assistance (i.e. food stamps) while the husband is applying for a business loan. I’m sorry this question feels demeaning to black men and reading your post in the Op it feels like you believe black women have some innate advantage over black men and analytics and data would disagree with that premise.

Now to answer your question most of these young men in NYC tend to work more in bigger box stores (BJ’s, Costco, etc) if not that there are plenty of local supermarkets that have black men partnerships to higher these young men (C-Town) is one of them.

A better question is why don't the black folks in those neighborhoods make their own versions of these business and drive the foreigners out

Imagine asking Prapdeep why he won't hire you to work the register at his deli.

Black folks are in those places heavy too. Being overcharged for shyt and everything. A meat market in New Orleans in the hood? You can retire in 20 years easy. I used to get mad but these days? Folks could always not support them yet they stay in those joints heavy. Getting mad about it is foolish.

If nobody bought.shyt at these stores they'd never get another loan. Since the discussion is about loans. But they know we'll be in there buying greasy foods loaded in carbohydrates, guzzling sugary sodas and buying up alcohol. shyt's beyond crazy. And sad when you think about it. Sad that is until you realize starving them out is easy but never seems to happen.

If they weren't really welcome the white folks handing them loans would have kicked them to the curb ages ago. But they clean up. Buying old ass candy and snacks and continuing to sell it way past expiration.

Getting extraordinary deals on meat by the pound and charging top dollar for food plates. Telling you what I've seen not heard. Same with alcohol. $10 for a 6 pack is highway robbery but it happens. They say don't break a pack but if/when folks do they just charge them 2 bucks for the single because a sale is a sale.
