They've basically been occupied ever since. Also up until fairly recently I believe their Constitution (the one forced down their throats) imposed severe limitations on their military capacities or something like that.

Also Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed, but so where other cities before and they did not capitulate right away iirc. Obviously it struck the collective minds and the West, but the whole thing about having the USSR breathing down their neck played a huge role too.

And WW2 was not even a century ago. To this day there's still very deep nationalistic feelings in Japan from what I understand, I mean they did use to be an empire. So you never know what the future may hold.

Also those bombings did not kill "millions of them", but around 200.000.

A large segment of Japan didn't even want to go to war at the time. Lost in most common history courses is the numerous coup attempts within Imperial Japan. Pearl Harbor was meant to be a delaying action, not a kick off to a massive new front.

And after the fact, Japan *might* have went full zealot if the US had decided to unseat the emperor.... but instead, the Allies decided to give power to some of the biggest opportunists, power holding entities, and officials that remained standing after all was said and done. Many of the same guys who helped develop and create their 'prosperity sphere' aka modern slave trade actually ended running shyt in Japan's new government as well. Even Abe had ties to them. And its not like the Pro-Imperial Japanese guys just laid down and accepted the L. Most continued fighting LONG after the war ended.

When the writing was on the wall prior to the surrender, they were sending kids to fight, inexperienced soldiers who could barely pass training, elderly, etc - just about every ounce of fight was sapped out of them leading up unconditional surrender. The fight was bled out of them. Then they had to choose between the US L and the Russian L. There was far more beef with the Russians than the US too.

And if you really want to follow up on what Japan was doing after WW2, you can see how they had their own anti-communist movements as well. :manny: The thing about the Pacific countries is that they have centuries of beef with each other. US influence is always secondary to that.
Ah so we built them up just so they wouldn't be an ally to the Russians but ours:beli:

Basically as far as I understand things, it really wasn't the atomic bombs that made Japan surrender it was the fact that the USSR entered the war against them. The leadership elements in Japan at the time were anti-communist, so they chose to bend the knee to the States as it was their only other option.
Essentially. The Japanese had been trying to surrender throughout the summer of 1945 as long as they kept the emperor but the U.S. wanted unconditional surrender. Combination of nukes and the Soviets invading from the north, the Japanese had no choice. The U.S. was smart to let the Japanese keep the emperor, though he was going to be a constitutional monarch and not absolute ruler, because he was seen as a God and they wouldn't have as much resistance and a possible insurgency on their hands.

What is crazy is the Mongols could never invade Japan.

Storms would get they ass or the samurai would give em work. And Japan had good fortifications.

So if America gave black people reparations you would just forget and forgive everything they did to us?

That's kinda the definition of reparations, fool.

:gucci:

Reparations means they would be seeking to repair the damage they did to us while also admitting guilt.

Germany pays restorations to Israel. Do you see hostilities between those 2 countries?

No, there's no tension there because Germany is doing what Israel wants them to do to fix what they did to them.

Yall boys be out here asking for reparations and don't understand the first thing about it or what we need to do in order to get it, and after we get it smh.

People really think Japan was always on some hello kitty Anime shyt. They need to do the knowledge, Japan was fukking shyt UP at one point. Them muthafukkas wasn’t playing NO games.

I respect them for taking a hard anti-white and anti-Christian stance during the Edo Period but that landed them on the white man’s number 1 shyt list for a good minute. Those whites couldn’t WAIT to drop that bomb
Yup I was reading on Mongol Invasions of JAPAN..or rather their failure the other day..they had single samurai taking out several mongols by himself :wow:

Do you want them to :mjtf:

In seriousness tho...

We help rebuilt their economy, modernize their infrastructure, etc. To a point where Japan was the 2nd biggest economy in the world after the USA during the 80s

We didn’t “help” them with anything we exploited them as trade partners for “our” (corporations/ federal reserve)benefit.
