Girls might, but young nikkas know who he is moreso because of Kanye. I'm one myself. They're more likely to go listen to Jay's older albums than the girls would, but that goes without saying anyway.
Yes b/c of kanye too. He is also linked to rih and jcole. If it wasn't for them, most younger people wouldn't care about him. He would be similar to nas, known and respected as a "legend" but not currently popular or on younger people's mind/mouth like he is b/c of the people he's linked to. He wants that so he needs them.
Since when has a Hip Hop artists thoroughness been detrmined by whether the Beyoncé crowd knows him or not?
That's like saying Eric B and Rakim weren't any good because Janet Jackson fans didn't know who they were.
Ya'll nikkas straight moving the goal posts on some pop bullshyt.
This generation murdered hip hop ya'll.
I didn't say anything about his thoroughness, I'm talking about his current popularity among the crowd the matters. The younger crowd (which has gotten older in recent years) teens to late 20s maybe even early 30s. That guy is 50, you know.
& yes he does care "30s the new 20" LOL
Kanye Got more famous because of the Kardasians
Not really. He started showing more of his crazy ness after he got with her and made one of his worst albums ever, yezus. The kardashians are known but are the clan that people love to hate. A large portion of their popularity comes from people who "hate" them.
Im the last person to usually call "publicity stunt" but anyone who can't see what this Jay-Z cheated shyt for what it is = fukking retarded.
Last time it was "brink of divorce" right before their tour. Now a new album drops and it's cheating.
People are fukking retarded. These two are playing ya'll to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars with supposed leaks, analyzing of lyrics, fake rumors etc.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have a business deal that's bringing in millions upon millions of dollars. No one is leaving anyone.
When they were on "the brink of divorce" is when the stuff she talked about in the album happened. Now they are in the "all has been forgiven and we're working on us" stage. All of this is on the album. He is not currently cheating, it happened in the past and she forgave him. That was his last chance though according to her.
Outside of her telling it in the album, Jay z has mentioned it in his songs. One specific song is "jay z blue" (google it). relased in early 2013. some of the songs from lemonade were made back then as well.
Also, an anonymous twitter user who works for beyonce was spilling tidbits about the album since last year. They have been writing articles on the account b/c all of the stuff came true. That same account revealed that beyonce uses a secret twitter account, which has also been proven. That account was also retweeting all of the rita ora/becky stuff (none of the rachel roy which is interesting). & they never denied anything.
Nicki mentioned that they talked about the situation and said beyonce "let her guard down" with this in an interview when they asked her about the album.
Watch The Throne was out less than five years ago, with Otis, nikkas in Paris, and No Church In The Wild which were HUGE hits. Then they went on tour which to this date is the highest grossing hip-hop tour ever. But it's an honor for THEM to be on #snooze from the tents?
Also MCHG (which did VERY well even tho I personally didn't like it) was just out in like 2013/2014... That damn Tom Ford song & the song with Justin Timberlake were
EVERYWHERE. You must have the attention span of a cricket.
It's not like Hov's last relevant track was in 2003 or something. This revisionist history is wild, even the teenagers know who he is and they ALL know nikkas in Paris
5 years is a long time in the entertainment industry these days. mchg was so bad that people like myself frequently forget about it and only remember watch the throne with kanye.
Yes they nip b/c of kanye & they know on the run b/c of beyonce and justin t. Outside of the people who he's associated with, the younger people don't care about that 50 year old rapper. No younger person is hoping and begging for grandpa to make another album is basically what I'm saying. Also, read my first response in this post that mentioned nas. I don't feel like retyping it.
where u coming from wit this chatty party shyt? Dumbass bytch really believe bey bout to leave hov and u dumb as shyt is u think this generation don't know jayZ
Serious how old are u?
You sound like an old bitter stanning as bytch stanning for an old dusty ass rapper.
I'm younger than you obviously, which is why I know we don't care about his music.
She's not going to leave him if he doesn't cheat anymore. Younger people know jayz for being beyonce's husband and being linked to kanye, cole, rihanna. The top acts in music. Younger people are not hoping and begging for that 50 year old male to make another album. They don't care about his music is what I'm saying. They aren't thirsty for it like they are for drake, rihanna, beyonce's music.
I'm assuming your're over 30. People age, including people in music. & they become less popular. ex nas. He will be known as a "legend" but he is not on younger people's minds/mouths all of the time. He is currently not popular. & that's fine b/c I don't think he wants that, but jay z does.
False. And I know cause I mentor younger people.
You mentor young people, what is that supposed to mean? You're old. Young people don't care about his music. Like I said earlier, of course we know who he is b/c of beyonce, rih, cole and kanye. Just like we know who nas is and all of the other older "legend" rappers. We don't care about his music though. We aren't thirsty for it like we are for drake/rih/cole/bey.
He did tons of press, Weekend just made it the in thing to not do interviews.
@Giselle You buggin, Jay is loved & respected by all ages in the tristate.
He might not have tweens on lock but people in my age group (21-26) do care for Jay's music.
First 21-26 isn't an age group. 25/26 are mid 20s and aren't grouped with early 20 year olds lol
I am in my 20s. I like some of jay z's old songs (from the early 2000s when I was a kid). I don't like and haven't heard most of his latest music from his last album from 5 yrs ago. Most of jay zs older fans say his latest music is trash compared to his older stuff. Yes younger people like and listen to some of his older music, but we are not begging or thirsty for him to make another album like we are for cole, rih, bey, drake, kendrick. I have typed that multiple times already.
