I ain’t even know who the hoe was until I watched the Oscars with my girl. At that point I just kept hearing shyt about her. But what I saw of her is just ratchetness. I cringed every time she spoke on that stage. I even literally had to turn around :heh:

But I don’t hate her, just think she’s ratchet and don’t particularly care for her. Shouldn’t be acting a damn ratchet fool when cunducting business :yeshrug:

She trained under Richard Pryor... She's been putting in work...
I mean that's cool but I'm talking about something tangible that's on screen. So far she's had one major role which is Girl's Trip. Lately she seems to be getting more attention for comments she's making (about other people) and what she's wearing instead what she's doing. I'm aware she has other things coming out but the op asked why is she receiving hate and this is my observation.

she's a one trick pony. she's likable and can be funny when given good material (charmichael show), but it's hard to be entertaining when you're one note. i'd like to see her try something different, like taraji when she stepped outside the ghetto roles in benjamin button and hidden figures, sometimes it's good to "break character".

like i said in another thread, in about 5 years, tiffany haddish is simply going to end up being the gen x jennifer lewis. she will be the go-to black woman for the "loud auntie" role. but as far as disliking her as a person, that's not warranted, but not being a fan of her comedy/the roles she plays, that's valid criticism.

Tiffany Haddish is literally Lovita Alize Jenkins in real life.... it's hit or miss with me.

The whole "uncouth woman" lane that her and Cardi B are on isn't gonna last long.

It's strange that people are so opposed to being objective/critical of women that judging a comedian on her comedic work is considered "hating".

It's funny to see the same people that hate on Kevin Hart are getting mad that people are hating on Tiffany Haddish. :mjlol:

The Coli is full of hypocritical ass bullshyt artist. :mjlol:

nikkas using the term that black people are a hating community. But be the same person hating on other black entertainers in a different thread. :mjlol:

My only issue is how she makes sure to let people know at every stop that she isn't a regular back and is mixed. It would be like if a dude from the Netherlands built a career doing a redneck impression but would his Dutch heritage and distance himself from southern whites. Just seems like the whole thing is exploiting stereotypes.

I get were your coming from she make her money center her comedy around being a African American hood rat but when award or stuff like that come up she make sure to mention she also Eritrean even thou it not her Eritrean side that making her money or getting her movie or book deals is it something like that.

I don't know who this chick is until a few weeks ago, so i'm finna depend on yuzto perspective. If what yall claim is true, then why and how are the rest of you nikkas supporting her?

In this thread I see "I'm happy she's being herself and getting payed", but it appears she's not being herself
In this thread I see "she making money by being a stereotype and semi koon, but she's working hard," co kooning is acceptable for those you like now?

What's this pride and what's the end goal in not holding Black folks you like accountable, despite their actions making you feel a certain way if done by a Black person you don't like? I've seen nikkas claiming there'sa gay agenda that targeting Black men/boys, but then cape for the homo antics of Youngthug, talmbowt bu bu I like his music

Disclaimer: Didn't read comments yet

Embarrassment, low self esteem, honesty.

Black people as a whole are under tremendous pressure. Fokr those of us that don' have the benefits of a Hollywood lifestyle it can be a threat to our image.

If you depend on "others" to employ you, educate you, or put you on, its nerve wracking thinking about the expectations they will have of youh based on what they see on tv. I get it.

However until u transcend that point of thinking that people that have had a 400 year head start... on top of them being complete sociopaths, are superior to you, the tiffany Haddish's of the world will always cause you second hand embarrassment.

I saw her on the Oscar, and she was a checklist of negative black female stereotypes.

Oh, well.

Get your paper.

Capitalizing on negative black stereotypes didn't begin, nor will they end with her.

This. These people are willing to take roles and jobs meant for African Americans but when its time to get awards and attention they want you to know they are just pretending to be like us. Their Wikipedia always has Eritrean American or in issa raes case Senegalese American. They are fine showing evil ignorant false destructive stereotypes of black people as no self control or moral compass having sociopaths but they would never agree to do that about blacks in those other countries they claim heritage from. Yvette Carnell broke it down about Tiffany and her deadbeat dad who she is honoring anyway because he wasn't African American. That DL Hughley story about bringing his dad to his mansion and then kicking him out was new to me but doesn't surprise me because DL spoke more highly of that white supremacist cop allegedly shot by Micah Johnson in Dallas than he does of his own father. Attacking African American fathers is always praised in the media in this country.

I saw her bit with Maya Rudolph and I just cringed. Nothing but second hand embarrassment.

. a lot of these chicks screaming blackgirlmagic only want a certain type of black woman seen. how is tiffany a stereotype? i know plenty chicks just like her

And that's a bad thing? Yeah, most people want to see themselves being represented in the best light possible. The loud, ghetto black woman is a longstanding stereotype. The women who actually act like her IRL are already overrepresented so it's not like she's filling a void.

It's obvious the reason white media is pushing her so hard is because she embodies the only kind of blackness they're truly comfortable with: simple, nonthreatening and buffoonish. And it's even better that she's attractive because it makes her more palatable to folks who would've otherwise tuned out sooner.

I was watching a show the other day and the panel was talking about the Oscars and a white dude squealed with delight at the mention of her name. "She's just so REAL!" Then you have a bunch of other white folk talking about "it's refreshing" that she can be herself. All that coded language tells me is this is how they think 100% of blacks really are. You know....when they're not being uppity. It's blatant as hell.
