Ike Turner told him to stop that shyt.

Yeah him and a couple of black musicians like Coltrane went down their own paths of slightly avant-garde shyt, but without pretension. They actually put their soul into it. Putting themselves into spiritual musical trances and shytI STRONGLY HATE THESE VIDEOS FROM THESE NOBODIES WITH THE CLICK BAIT SHOCK TITLES.
Dudes be having o credentials making videos like "Here is why your finger picking SUCKS"
"HOW TO FIX YOUR TERRIBLE BASS MIX"
The white guitarists found it easier to digest Eric Clapton blues. The white take on blues..
Guys like Jimi had the basic blues nailed down but experimented far more. He had the embellishments from the r&b style that the white guitarists couldn't nail down.
Jimi was also more raw..he didn't care about missing notes.
Also Jimi had swagger on the guitar and great stage presence. Alot of the British guys have no swagger and no confidence to try half the shyt jimi did.
god knows theyre trying. im a musician and the way they try to copy him STILL is depressing... get your own styleBecause his style can't be copied
lol theres not nearly that much theory involved.. it wasnt so much the notes as how he played themCreatively he was thinking of stuff nobody could even fathom working. The great thing about not being too constricted by music theory is that you can go and do stuff that might be blasphemous but you don't know so impact/feeling is leading, not theory. Explaining his genius just turns into breaking down theory rules being broken or approached freely, you can play till you're blue in the face but the lesson here is to take risks and emphasize playing with feeling over imposed restrictions
Jimi also got booed by black crowds at the time so its really mostly black people that didnt like Hendrix. 1960's Coli would have called him a c00nLittle Richard also fired Jimi for the same reasons
I watched but I still don't understand what's "hated" about Hendrix. He centered chords?Right![]()
Jesse Johnson is underrated and for a while may have been better than Prince..atleast in 80-84...I don't know alot about guitar. I just know if I loke what I'm hearing. To the guitar heads what do yall think about:
1. Jesse Johnson (Time)
2. Jubu Smith
3. Ernie Isley
My favorite from him is Get it Up. He showed his ass that whole song!Jesse Johnson is underrated and for a while may have been better than Prince..atleast in 80-84...
When they would jam Prince would always put Jesse on bass
His links are incredible and he can really let it shred. Jungle Love solo is a favorite of mine for sure.
