Carter 1 and Carter 2 are classics and aged amazing. Nothing sounds outdated on those. So your thread is invalid cause the premise itself isn't a fact but just a poor opinion rooted in hate.

Facts!! I thought I was the only one who thought this. Carter 1 Wayne was spazzing. Carter 2 is when he learned how to craft songs but when he became a punchline rapper after dude really lost it

Because it was never anything special to begin with. He came in at a very low point in rap and that tricked the fools into thinking he was something special.

Pretty much. Wayne has talent, but he dominated an era with not a lot of competition. Even then, was he making projects like Late Registration?

I think what helps Wayne to this day is he knows how to flow over different types of beats and he has a lot of charisma. When he's on, he can make anything sound cool. "Wish a nikka would, like a tree in this bytch" would sound stupid out of anyone else's mouth, but Wayne made that line a classic.

I get why he's in the position he's in, but he shouldn't be part of the GOAT discussion.

As Wayne's mainstream popularity peaked he became a mainstream spitter. Giving you life of a rich young rapper with rich drugs, rich women, and many places to see at his disposal. The struggle or social awareness wasn't part of Wayne's peak package.

On the flip side I've been listening to Juvenile lately. He really has a top 5-10 argument ALL TIME. All of his underground to peak popularity music has aged like good barreled grapes. If 400 Degrees would of dropped this past Friday it would be the hottest shyt out. That's how well it has aged. Juvie and B.G. have catalogues that aged very well.

Tried to listen to his Carter snd Mixtape songs and they just sound dated.. like it’s stuck in 2008 :mjcry:

Wayne and EM have the most dated and aged poorly catalog ever…

sad
His music has always fit that time so it's really hard to go back and listen to it.

Same can be said about Drake to a degree.
