This simply isn't true. There definitely have been classic albums the past decade.
Why hasn't Rap had a Classic album in the last 10 years?

Ive always liked his music so I could be bias but to me it has a classic sound to it and great storytelling, he's good at painting a picture and I know it got a lot of positive reviews

Kanye can't be compared to Travis Scott if you're talking about what high schoolers think. Kanye's been around for a long time now. That said, MBDTF is certainly not a classic. I can see why people like it though. He's better when he doesn't rap and produce. He's more like a Rick Rubin type of dude (except nowhere near Rick Rubin's level) in that he doesn't do a whole lot but gets tons of credit. Rubin at least did some shyt though. No disrespect to Rubin, but you get what I mean.

because the way we consume music now has made the album kind of obsolete. we listen to playlists now.
the inference of no classic albums is that classic hiphop isn't being made
if you compile all the classic GBE youtube bangers on some Diplomatic immunity shyt you have a classic group album. If you compile Future's best songs from 2015 you have a legit classic double album, if Drake has better track selection and doesn't give away so many classic songs as freebies he'd be sitting on like 3 classic albums.

Ive noticed that all through-out the years online. nikkas seem to think classic means "albums i like". So an
album will drop and they'll be like "I bump this shyt with no skips. Instant classic yo!".
I always say that classics have IMPACT, thats the key factor to me. An album that changed or shifted the culture at one time. Or just
something that made the game stop. It was a moment.
So whether you or i like/dislike an album, impact is not something you cant deny.
I can dislike, say, "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" all i want (an example!), but i cant say its not a classic and we all know the reasons.
Look online and every got damn Kanye album is a classic.
