Why have albums stopped leaking?

Beyoncé let everybody know it was ok to drop albums out of nowhere. Usually it's digital first then physical a week later.

The main reason is because the albums are held much more closely to the artists chests.
They aren't recording in a bunch of random studios anymore, they're sent to a particular engineer
or a particular producer or a particular rapper/singer etc.
When the leaks happen now, they're from a person in a very small circle and there's a high chance
it can be traced right back to them. Meaning they might not be chosen for the next project or the next
preview of that project.
I think that's part of the reason why leaks don't happen as often as they did before.
When you're recording at several different studios and using more than one engineer or
leaving songs on computers half way across the world. It's easier for someone to just upload
a half finished poorly mixed song to the internet.

Well, that is a major reason, as well as the quality of music plummeting outside of a handful of artists. No one wants to listen to most rappers outside of a hit radio single.
Cole, Kendrick, and the ones that have quality control over their work, yeah, their leaks gonna be an epic event.

And although some albums have earlier digital release dates than physical nowadays, most still do not.

This. I'm still working my way through 2015 shytIt takes me anywhere from a week to a month to get to new releases nowadays anyway, so I don't know and don't care
Cuz somebody ripped it from the Apple Music stream and uploaded it on a filesharing site
Leak = when an album comes out online ahead of time without permission of the label/distributors
Months before leaks: Labels stopped sending out advance and promo albums. Took them awhile to realize . Manufacturing plants are on lockdown nowadays, and the process now includes less people, and shorter time before shipping. They aren't getting the masters until shortly before release compared to 10 years ago.
Weeks before leaks: Retail just don't get CDs shipped in a whole week before release anymore. The majority of release groups are comprised of people who work in stores, and they just aren't a factor anymore when there's pretty much overnight shipping. Someone will have leaked a webrip from a streaming side that released early in other countries.

I think people just don't care. Before it mattered b/c shyt was leaking months and weaks in advance. People don't care about a two day advance leak when they'd rather stream it instead of downloading it anyways.
