Sexual competition. Population/resource control.

Most men dont want to raise another man's child. That's why in the animal kingdom they just kill em or chase em out and have their own babies.

So when a woman isn't having sex with anyone else, they can plant their seed first and mark their territory.

If women were having sex with anyone they want. They would get pregnant and have more kids, which uses more resources. Who is gonna pay for their food, clothes, take the time to raise them?

Children mark a woman as a mother, experienced or not a virgin. That's why conservatives are against birth control. They feel like forcing women to have children will deter them from being sexually promiscuous.

This line of thought will prosper ONLY if society is able to keep up these illusory boundaries, the majority of females have vested in the belief that society as is will continue but haven't planned for a period in which there is great economic and civil distress. What is going to happen when there is no law and order? What is going to happen when that ATM doesn't give out monies or when food gets hard to find?

The social order is going to revert it's most primal and brutal form and history is dotted with examples when civilizations fall into this and it's always women and children who become the most vulnerable, so it'll be interesting to see how this line of "thought" does in the face of extreme societal chaos.
