You just said you make beats for a hobby and not for a profession. You're not a producer. I also make beats for a hobby. What's your point? I never asked how much money you made. Could care less. I simply pointed out that you look crazy downplaying someone who has actually created classic iconic albums with other artists, producers, and writers, but are on here talking about a hobby. Basically, you really are a mad producer. It's basically someone who plays basketball for fun thinking they could coach better than Steve Kerr. Dude has rings both as a player and a coach.
Basically you a bum ass nikka on Puffy dikk and mines. Puffy also a fake producer like I said

This why you on my dikk fakkit ass nikka. You dudes stay being sassy on here. I get a lot of money dumb ass. I make beats for a hobby, not for a profession. Don’t ever in your basic ass life mistake me for some struggling artist. Slap yourself.
U got a beat page online? :feedme:

Far as the thread goes

Nas on Ether

“Foxy got u hot cuz u kept your face in her puss
What, you think you’re getting girls now cause of your looks?”

Woulda sounded and rhymed better as

“Foxy got u hot cuz u kept your face in her puss
What, u think u getting girls now based on your looks”

Big difference in what the OP is doing and what Puff or any producer would do. Yeah, what the OP is suggesting works in theory, but it might not sound as good as it is read in this thread and as it is imagined vs actually hearing it. There is a reason why Puffy has hit songs to his credit and you're stuck on a a message board looking like the mad producer.

There's a big difference in what I'm doing and what I'm suggesting and how it could work in theory. It's not like I'm reading a poem by a dude from 200 years ago that I've never heard recited. I know the songs, lyrics, beat, flow, rapper's voice, etc.

On paper, or a message board, it reads like literary analysis, which it is but the subject is here is like comparing a movie to pictures. You're gonna be more informed with a movie compared to a picture just by the nature of the art form. More things are left to interpretation with pictures. It's like that with a song and a poem. We can thank the evolution of technology for advancing the art form.

What I'm doing is no different than watching a movie and offering a few critiques in the writing and editing that I thought would have made more sense or made the movie better, etc. Everybody does that.

I'm not sure a producer / beat maker is gonna be listening to the lyrics and break em down like I have. Puffy got hit records. I have a degree in English. I don't know if it's a job for the producer. It's a job for the writer(s). TV shows have writer's rooms. Movie scripts go through drafts, edits and rewrites all the time. The writer / performer's choices aren't always the best just cuz they wrote it. I used to never like classmates reading my papers in school cuz I didn't think they could offer anything to improve my work. There were a couple times where I was wrong and had to show a little begrudging respect.

I've even said that these songs don't "need" these changes. It's like tryna get the lineup 100%. You'll be there forever tryna get every little hair. It's like splitting hairs. What I'm suggesting is not gonna compromise the integrity of the songs or the artist's voice; that's not how I edit. They're things that have always bugged me a lil bit and could be made better both musically and poetically. Or...it could sound worse. Guess we'll never know tho. It's still a fun exercise. :yeshrug:

Respect comes from admiration or fear
so you can admire me or you can catch one in ya wig

Two of my favorite bars ever but I always wished he said "catch one in ya ear" or somethin, lol.

"...or you can catch one when it flare"

"you can admire me or I can make ya kid disappear"...

"you can admire me or stay inside the house cause you scared"

etc... plenty of other fear-worthy shyt that woulda rhymed with "fear".

Fif is always saying "ya ass" when referring to the targets of his threats so it woulda made sense to say:

You can admire me or I can make ya ass disappear

Using "ya kid" there is something he would say cuz in The Mechanic, (highly underrated Curtis song) he was "in the schoolyard with ya kid playing dodgeball / then out come the hammer, could shorty dodge those?"

He's always using the "see the flash, see the spark," so "catch one when it flare" woulda stayed true to his voice.

The chorus for The Clipse - "Popular Demand"

At the end of the hook where Pharell says

Eating chicken and fries
Holler at your "uncles"
You understand, I'm back by popular demand

????

Eating chicken and fries
Holler at your GUYS

50 saying blood twice on What Up Gangsta. Could’ve said thug

But back then there were at least twice as many Bloods in NYC as Crips

roll-safe-clever.gif

Seriously though I would prefer if he has said "thug". Good catch.

I thought u were gon crucify Cam's verse when I saw Popular Demand for a second. That woulda been :umad:

You gotta bring the hook back even further with the end rhymes to really drive ur point home cuz it's a good one, but we might have to forgive Skateboard P for this:

1. Mami you miss me, don't you?
2. Haters, wish you could hit me, don't you?
3. Heh, you should call me uncle
4. l understand, I'm back by popular demand
5. That new CL fly
6. Outside
of Popeyes eating chicken and fries
7. Yeah, come holla at your uncle
8. I understand, I'm back by popular demand

Starting in line 5, he goes into the "I" vowel end rhyme with fly and fries which u alluded to. He continues the rhyme internally in line 6 when he rhymes outside with Popeyes.

Lines 7 and 8 of the hook are a parallel construction that end the previous two lines, like he does in lines 3 and 4. So I get why he chose to go back to "holla at ya uncle." But he slowed his tempo down on that line. He coulda did the same thing with "guy" like u said. He coulda slowed down and paused for a legit second or two after he finished line 6 with "fries." That woulda regained the rhythm and completed the end rhyme, while it lead into finishing with the Popular Demand title like in 4, which would have maintained that repetition/ parallel construction.

But back then there were at least twice as many Bloods in NYC as Crips

Either way it was still fire tho :yeshrug: but I agree with both of y'all

This is one of those threads I’ll come back to weeks from now. I usually only catch this when the song is playing but I can’t think of any right now

Kodak Black on Super Gremlin.

The hook:

Now is not safe for yoooou
You switch like a p*ssy lil bytch
:stopitslime:

The last bar should’ve been:
Now is not safe for yoooou
You switch like a bytch do
