Why is After Earth getting so much hate?

I watched it the other day and I loved it. Yeah sure Jaden Smith had some scenes but I've seen worse movies getting better reviews

M. Night's movies have gotten worse and worse, and fresh prince hasnt had a blocksbuster in over a decade

Breh, it's 2013. There is no "regular folks". 85% of the U.S. has high speed internet now. M. Night being attached to the movie was known to anyone that went anywhere related to movies for months prior to the movie coming out.

It was on the damn poster and half the ads for the movie:

So at acting like this was some kind of secret.

So people are confused. It's not racism. The only reason people gave the half a fukk they did, was because of Will Smith. The movie flopped and got shyt on because of M. Night.

@ the obscure posters. THIS was the poster hanging in most theaters and the one shown around the net when the movie was in "sell" mode. So lets not act like people in passing just knew M. Knight was going to be the guy making the movie. I'd go so far as to say they did that sh!t on purpose. As for my other point notice how Jaden is the one thats always in the poster or Will is behind Jaden in the main poster. If people couldn't see Jaden was the focal point of the movie that was on them.

According to Wikipedia the worldwide box office take stands at $171 million. While I'm sure the studios wanted a hit, the budget was $130. Will Smith will move on to fight another day.

My chick didn't know it was m.night so I ain't let her know cause I know she would have passed but we went and enjoyed it.

I think critics did hate on will putting his son on, this wasn't Pursuit type of sude part, this was a Jaden Smith movie. The movie was good, definitely better than the ratings it's getting

movie wasn't nearly as bad as the reviews, I didn't say anything wrong Will or Jaden's acting, a lot had to do with pacing and it being pretty boring for the most part

M. Knight made it but it was actually Good IMO.

I don't know what all the Hate was over the Movie but then I heard it was because of Will & Jaden but that Hate I also don't Understand. I didn't think Jaden was all that Great of an Actor but he's still Young so he has more to Learn and People are taking it Overboard with them being Father & Son. I look at it like a Black Man trying to Push his Son into the Limelight and People getting Angry & Hateful over it ...but The Smiths are such a Nice Family so What's Their fukking Problem? I'm sure they're not Perfect but they're a lot better than some of these other Parents & Kids of Hollywood that are Famous for no reason and Famous for less reasons.
