He's clearly NFL's sweetheart right now. Every time the Colts win, it's: "ANDREW LUCK KNOWS HOW TO WIN, WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TALENT." Everytime they lose: "ANDREW LUCK DOESN'T HAVE ANY TALENT AROUND HIM." The dude is nothing special; 6.5 YPA and a 58 CMP%.
He was just as bad with Reggie Wayne, so don't give me none of that "he has no Wayne" BS.
I agree with you 100% that all too often, when Luck does make bad plays, he's given a pass and when he does do something great, it's another example of what makes him special. Believe me, as a Redskins fan and full-fledged RGIII supporter, I've had this discussion countless times, so I completely understand where you're coming from. However, you also can't ignore the fact that the Colts were 11-5 last season - with Luck leading the league in game-winning drives - and are 9-5 this season and leading their division. Winning does matter. Whether or not you believe Indianapolis is truly a good team or that Luck is the reason behind them winning isn't important because no one is going to over-analyze the play of the second-year QB when he's 20-10 as a starter and especially when that same team has no running game whatsoever and a bad defense.
Someone also brought up how Luck hasn't proven he's the quarterback that he was hyped to be. Again, as an RGIII supporter, I'll admit that he's had his ups and downs this season, but in no way do I think he's played as bad as people are making it out be but there have been long stretches where he hasn't looked crisp, which is perfectly fine because I know he's far from a finished product. People always bring up the Peyton Manning comparison with Luck as if they expected him to completely skip over the learning stage of his career to putting up 4,500 yards and 35 TDs in his second season. In Peyton's first two years in the league, he averaged 26 TDs and 21.5 INTs per season, including a league-leading 28 INTs his rookie season for a 3-13 team. Even Peyton took a little time to become "Peyton". I'm not saying that Luck will one day reach the level of the greats, just that it's way too early to make that call either way.
