you tell me, i dont even consider the popular rappers today to really even be that interesting, they all come from the wiz khalifa era where it's like revenge of the squares or some shyt, all that odd world or odd future or whatever the fukk, j cole, kendrick lamar,wiz, big sean, etc
they have different fan bases.
J Cole fans are the type who "don't really listen to rap but love eminem" and the "I need music with 'substance'" types. Ole wannabe backpackers who love underdogs cause they think rapping about "real shyt" (whatever that is) means something.
Watch how a real star power hits the stage around 0:50.
Dude's show is just STOLEN at that point.

I'm not listing who or what I find entertaining...especially so you can go through and attempt to dismiss this or that and pretend like my preferences aren't up to your standards.
Just know that I could replace J Cole with a bunch of rappers and not truly miss what he brings to the game.

Better with them than the c00nfest that was happen in the late 00s with the one wonders and all. And especially better than the superthugs like Mobb Deep that had fabricated back stories that later got exposed.
A lot of people loved being lied to. The "squares" are probably the best you gonna get in the age of the internet.

I didn't ask who was interesting to you, u said cole wasn't popular because he hasn't been platinum. But since he's been active only jay-z, Kendrick, kanye, Macklemore,drake, lil Wayne and eminem have been platinum. 2 of those mc's maybe 4 are legends(considering how u view Wayne and kanye). So what rappers do u think are popular??

Cole grinds his way to the top and he didn't without fukkery like getting arrested, having gimmicks, fukking and tricking on strippers and models, etc.
