I actually had to go out and get my own books. Never mind the fact most of my hs classes never had book. Had to take notes for the first time in my life. Luckily this chick in one of my classes showed me how.If you grew in an urban environment (as opposed to suburban), college is not an easy adjustment.
People like to look down on the hood like it’s a prison you need to escape. But what people don’t realize is that you’re actually in an insulated environment. You’re surrounded by your own people.
When you get out there in the real world to make something of yourself, you realize for the first time what “white supremacy” really is about.
I used to work corner store/neighborhood jobs all the time and if I don’t like something my boss said I would legit tell that nikka “fukk you” and walk out for the day fully expecting my job to be there tomorrow.
Mid level manager Todd without a college degree at all is telling you to come in for the 3rd Saturday in a row and you have to because you’re on salary. That’s a different type of pain my guy...![]()
But she laughed at me first

shyt was a HUGE adjustment. Luckily I was on the football team so that kept things kinda structured for me
..but i was there on a full scholarship with criteria i had to make sure i fulfill every semester AND i was a computer science major..that alone made college harder than high school.

It's just critical thinking & deciphering patterns
Business administration/marketing/business communications. A WHOLE LOTTA people choose majors purely off of the potential money or because they have no clue what they want to do & choose something easy. You have to find out how to monetize your passion, which is cliche af but true. The only painful/boring part of college is actually paying for it, and spending hours studying for the final exam, but other than that it's a breeze.

but that was a wake up call
