-College has better resources ( multiple math centers, math tutors, writing centers, dorm tutors, databases and multiple libraries)

-more motivated students ( Higher GPA requirements) which forces you to improve since nobody wants to be last. And being a class clown is looked down upon heavily.

-100’s of majors to choose from so you won’t be bored and can take classes you’re interested in
 Just make sure that major can pay the bills at graduation time.

-More clubs and organizations which means you can hang and chill with like minded people.

:wow: High school was a nightmare for me ( Fights, illiterate ass nikkas, fat jokes and more fights), but college was definitely a great turning point for me.

Hell nah this ain’t true.

I went all the way to AP Calculus AB in hs.

Ya boy sat down for his first day of college trig and was looking like the Mr. Krab meme for the next 6 months :mjcry:
Right? Any mf who said high school was a breeze was taking regular classes

I stayed having at least 2 AP classes every year in high school. AP Biology was the hardest class I’ve ever taken, barely kept a C- in that class. AP Geography I got a 5 on the exam

You gotta study In college if you want to do well

it's actually sad that this has to be repeated..its really that simple
when i got to college, i made sure i did the following things

1. have designated homework and study times. during the week it was in the evenings after i had classes and went to the gym. Studying or doing homework for up to 3 hours. at the 3 hour mark i usually shut it down barring if there wasn't anything immediately due. On the weekends id go to the library or lab early or late mornings until mid afternoon so id have time to do whatever later.

2. have a designated place to study with no distractions. the library is your friend and it was my friend. i used to have stone cold focus in there because it was quiet..you could hear a pin drop.

3. never try to study or do homework for anything in your dorm unless weather makes it not possible. my junior and esp senior year dorms were too lit. if i did work in my suite, distractions would happen...too easily :francis:...if it wasnt roommate fukkery or personal fukkery it was women lol.

The male brain doesn't fully developed until your twenties. Before then evolution has you are built for war and procreating.

It's why women out perform men in high school but we surpass them later on.

You are being asked to sit down 8 hours a day when everything in your evolutionary make up is saying destroy or fukk.

Ask yourself why countries seem to fight major wars every 20 years. It's society unloading these males who otherwise would have nothing to do and would compete for resources with weaker older males.

As you grow older you those part of your genes start to calm down and you become more cerebral.

I was a fukking dumbass in high school in everything besides history and lit. I go back to college in my mid 20's and I felt like a fukking genius. Math, Science, Chemistry it all made sense.

Again there are other factors like parents not having the resources for tutors, weight training for football at 6am or practice from 3-5 leaving you exhausted, but that's pretty much the jist

I agree with the OP. There are definitely reasons for that.

-In high school, you're constantly surrounded by the same people every day so you have to deal with their drama and have it mixed in with yours. A lot of people in high school have no motivation or drive and just go there to be with their friends. They told us you really had to put in work the first two years of HS so you could decrease the workload later on, but I don't think certain people got that message. By the time senior year rolls around, they're like :dwillhuh: wondering why they have to still be there.

-High school was a never-ending unpaid job. You have breaks every now and then, but for the most part, you're there five straight days a week for weeks on end and you get no rest from those classes or the teachers. Homework is assigned almost every day. It wasn't normal to not get any on a particular day. There were many times in sophomore/junior year that I would do homework that night and fall asleep doing it because of how draining it was. On Fridays, I would fall asleep for a quick nap and wake up hours later.

-High school doesn't teach you anything about the classes you take. I've always been decent when it comes to math, but never an A student. I was like Peyton Manning in high school. I would do great in my classes (regular season) but when it came time for the end-of-year tests (postseason), I would choke. I met my math and science requirements in the ninth grade. It's a good thing too because I never passed another math or science Regents exam in high school. You could put together a highlight reel of my worst moments:

Failed my chemistry test by five points. :mjcry:

Did pretty good in my trigonometry class in my junior year. Got to the final exam and it was like the Seahawks blowing me out in New Jersey. The exam was giving me the :troll: face the whole time. :mjcry:

Those math/science classes in tenth grade. I can't even talk about them. :mjcry:

I didn't become an A student in math until two years ago. It was like once I got to college, everything started clicking and I could set my own standards. I don't think people realize how much you can forget from high school.

-Personal stuff. High school is when you really start figuring yourself out and you learn how to handle social situations. Coming out of junior high, I was a complete mess when it came to that and I almost got swallowed up because it felt like everybody and everything was out to get me. I tried being around people that didn't care for me, tried being everyone's number one guy and spent too much time worrying about everyone's opinion of me. High school helped me snap out of that mentality while I took many personal losses and become more confident. I'm still far from being the person I want to be, but high school was four years of figuring out what to do and what not to do. You don't have to worry about any of that in college. You can cut yourself off from everything if you want to and deal with your issues behind closed doors. You're under the microscope a lot more in high school.

This is a long post, but the point is, college has a more sophisticated atmosphere than high school. You're left to yourself more, you have more free time, classes become easier to deal with, and you don't have to worry about trouble unless you try looking for it. High school was way better than junior high, but there were still problems there that I don't miss. It's crazy because the job I'm working at right now is a summer day camp, and a majority of the counselors are still in high school. You notice it because of how they act towards you and their friends, and it makes you not want to go back to high school. Outside of the job, I wouldn't be around any of those guys if you paid me. :hhh:

Am I buggin or do y'all agree? :ohhh:

High school for me:

-Not really grasping the material
-Constantly angry/moody teachers
-Trying to impress/schmooze people by being a class clown
-Dealing with petty ass high school drama & immaturity
-When I'm trying to pay attention, some goofy ass being disruptive
-Constantly in a daze trying to keep up with homework/due dates/tests and quizzes

College for me:

-Go to class & jot down notes from the PowerPoint/Prezi/lecture
-If there's homework, I can go to the library and do it in a quiet, friendly space, using a computer for research/typing it if need be
-If it's a difficult class (like remedial math & college algebra was for me) I can go to the STEM lab/library and find a tutor to help me
-If it's not necessarily a hard class but there's a LOT of studying/reinforcement of info (like philosophy/biology), I can get a hot cocoa, go to the library, cozy up at a large table with a lamp/reading light and a outlet to charge my phone, in a comfortable office chair (they're like love seats on wheels) and take out my textbook/notes/flashcards and study
-The clubs/organizations are more fun than high school
-I'm passing all my classes because I actually LIKE THEM :gladbron:
-I recently started studying/perusing some GMAT workbooks and they're easy as hell:childplease:It's just critical thinking & deciphering patterns

It might just be because I actually love my major, and I started taking Adderall for my ADHD :manny:Business administration/marketing/business communications. A WHOLE LOTTA people choose majors purely off of the potential money or because they have no clue what they want to do & choose something easy. You have to find out how to monetize your passion, which is cliche af but true. The only painful/boring part of college is actually paying for it, and spending hours studying for the final exam, but other than that it's a breeze.
OP is probably in one of these two scenarios
1. He went to a difficult high school. When I was in high school it was mandatory to take at least 5 AP classes before you graduated. Our school was also more difficult since teachers rarely gave us multiple choice quizzes and test (nearly all of the tests were essays.... yes that includes math classes). They would give you 3 extremely difficult word problems and you had to solve them or formulate a proof. My high school was also ranked top 30 in the country. All my friends that did not go to a really good college (Ivy leagues, Stanford, Berkley etc.) tell me that college is easier than high school since our high school was technically more rigorous than a normal state school. I didn't do so hot in high school tbh.
2. You're in an easy major.

I disagree.

I dont think I studied one single time in high school and I had a near perfect GPA.

Meanwhile in college my digital logic and differential equation homework took 20 hours a week. Thank God I was already good a programming or I would have had 0 free time.

I should point out that I went to an all boys post-military hs so I never had to worry about how I dressed or impressing females

Diff EQ was easy as hell, just took some studying :usure:

All that coding though :whoa::whoa::whoa:

I need to do a bootcamp :mjcry:

I was in college for 12 years total. 4 undergrad, 2 masters, 6 PhD.

Classes are easy as fukk in undergrad and grad. The thing that was truly hard was my master’s thesis (87 pages) and doctoral dissertation (212 pages).

You really got to be self motivated, dedicated, and have a good work ethic to complete a dissertation. I’m glad I did it, but it was not fun at all. Half the people I started my doctoral program with dropped out. They couldn’t handle their diss. :francis:
